Is it me or does Chris Morgan not sound as hard as he looks (and is)? He looks as hard as a teak sideboard, but sounds like a northern Julian Clary.

Don't tell him I said that......

I think Wilson had his bollocks in his hands

I was starting to worry, a couple of minutes in and Kevin hadn't said "hey!", nor referred to the fact that he's a fan. 10 minutes later and Danny's said "hey!" a few times too, but he hasn't claimed to be a Blade as yet......

I generally don't think he expected it, I think he thought fans would just take it like they/we have in the past.

i pissed myself both times when the camera panned down from wilsons face to the name card-
then panned back up in disbelief!!!!

Just watched it and, got to be honest, that is the best interview a Blades manager has given in the last 3 years. Under extreme circumstances to boot.

Personally am gonna put this to bed now. Wasn't my choice either but tis what it is.

IF Wilson (And McCabe) are true to their word and are willing to put a major emphasis on the playing "style" then thats good enough for me.

IF Wilson can manage to foster a siege mentality amongst the players that was so obviously lacking last year than that will do for me.

IF Wilson can integrate a handful of the young uns in to the 1st team squad with some degree of success than that will do for me.

IF Wilson can attract some decent technical footballers to the Lane and at the same time offload Blackwells cloggers than that will do for me.

And the biggest IF of the lot is IF he can do all this with the financial constraints that he will no doubt be working to then he might, just might, turn out to be OK for us after all.

There has to come a point when, in any dire situation of sorts arises, a turning point, a phoenix from the flames, triumph through adversity etc etc. kicks in.

Just imagine BDTBL - A happy place again. A place we all look forward to going to every fortnight rather than the chore it has been of late. A place where fans sing, laugh and even cry rather than fucking moan.

A place where footballers are positively encouraged with chants like "Its just like watching Brazil" rather than "Your not fit to wear the shirt"

Good luck Danny.

You will surely need it.

But good luck.

agree totally with the above, some great points there-i dont like to emphasise on the wendy side of things, but if we get over that(like if we start playing good football, but most of all start winning games)then perhaps he could win the fans over-but it still feels a little uneasy at the moment,a bit like being at a party with your missus and an old flame is there and you only make an effort because you have too!

I agree as the London Blades know I was always in favour of Speed but he looked like a rabbit in the headlights in his debut interview.
For now I am backing Wilson and if he keeps the kids then even more so.
As for Chris Morgan - he's a geezer - love the man

Just watched the interview and I must say he did make all the right noises (as you'd expect from any press conference introducing a new manager), but what is impressive was his obvious acknowledgement of the difficulty of taking this job (with all the controversy of his past added), but also the attitude and the determination he showed to prove us all wrong, and in the best way possible (playing the football we've been craving for some time)...

I was defintely shocked, surprised, dissapointed and bewildered in his appointment, but i really hope he proves us all wrong - i didn't protest his appointment (i never would on a point of prinicple, i didn't like the appointment but i think the protest was quite disrespectful and only showed us - the club and the fans - in a bad light and deepened this chasm of disunity amongst the club), but like many of us i suspect, he will have to do a damn good job to prove us all wrong, and to be fair he knows this, accepts this, and still has the cahunas to think he CAN do it, so fair play, and if he does no one will be more happy than the fans inside Bramall Lane, however they might feel at this moment in time...

UP THE BLADES!!!

The interview is only available in the UK, did he say anything about his football philosophy?

He's pretty much set his stall out in planning to play attractive football.

Think the quote at one stage was "strong, entertaining and winning football".

Suppose it's too early to make detailed comments. Heath, Robson and Speed would say the same thing, but it needs to be effective as well. Just hope the many players on good deals isn't going to hold him back when rebuilding the squad.
