Something Sean Thornton mentioned on the away kit thread got me thinking

It's the only time I wore a football shirt to a match. Ever.

I'm not sure I've ever owned a blades shirt, and I've worn a mate's only once to a game - at Wembley vs Palace (it's all my fault then). String on the other hand has a sizeable collection although I'm not sure if he ever wears them.

So where do you sit on the spectrum?

Score 1 for never owning and never wearing, through to 10 for being a serial purchaser and wearer of the full kit, including socially. Im probably a 2.

Probably an 8. Like String I've got quite a collection and always on the lookout to fill in the missing gaps. They all have to fit me (xl) but I rarely wear them, I fact I only ever wear them at matches and still generally go for the current seasons (home or away). Off the top of my head I must have 50ish hung in my wardrobe

You tease. Goo on then.....

A white Chengdu Blades Tshirt with embroidered lettering.

I think my other half was trying to impress me with her football knowledge, we had only been together a couple of years.

Never worn them or even taken them out of the wardrobe :D

Never buy or wear the kit myself - I have a scarf - does that count? However my little lad has got the lot, full kit, gloves hat, scarf, badge - he is definitely an 8.

Had them when I was a kid and bought one since, for playing football with mates in. I'd consider getting this years as it's nice, when the price reduces, just for wearing around the house, or playing football. I wouldn't wear one otherwise though.

I've got a classic lime 89 away (I did have the 88-89 home but have lost it), a 90-91 home, a 93 blue away, had a 2004 home (lost) 2008 home with shorts, 2009 home and away with short and 2013 home.

As a kid I had the classic 1971 round neck with shorts and a Tom McAllister era keepers jersey

I have one of those new-vintage 1971 white with red cuffs away shirts and a red training top. In the past I have had loads of t-shirts as well.

So you're a 6 maybe?

How about getting a Desso for your garden? :D

If you're talking full kits and wearing socially for a 10 I think I'd be an 8.

I had every home shirt and a handful of away shirts from 1990-2008 , including full kits up to around '96 (age 11 or 12), took a break until we got relegated, now I'll get them if I like them.

Until last season I would ALWAYS wear a shirt to a match, but not having the awful home shirt and being generally embarrassed by what we were watching made me stop for a bit. Worn the current season home shirt to most (but not all) home games this season.

I wear a few old ones around the house or at the gym. I've still got them all (mostly left at my folks'), with the possible exception of my 97-98 'Deane 10' home shirt which couldn't be found last time I was looking for it!

I've also got a load of mid-to-late 90s club and international shirts (mostly Juventus) and the odd one or two since.

And a Chengdu away shirt.

I hadn't worn a replica shirt to a match for years before this season. But the current home shirt has already become my all-time favourite, so I wear it to most matches these days. Even wear the away one as well occasionally.

Vintage cotton shirt with Sheffield badge but don't buy current shirts any more.

Blades sweat shirt with current badge and Blades bobble hat for when it's cold.

125 scarf.

Don't know what that scores.

First thing is NO IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT. My wife (born and bred in Dingle-land) has been to one professional football game in her life. For that game she had purchased for her a new home shirt. That game was the Crystal Palace defeat at Wembley. It was her fault. The shirt was burnt and she hasn't been since. Not a bad record 1 game 1 shirt.
30 years ago I was an 8 but am now a 2 and that's an old hoody and a black sweater with a small crossed blades.

Got this season's for Christmas because it's an absolute corker. Easily the best home shirt I've seen since I started going.

Besides that, I buy the odd one every other year if I think it's alright. Usually at the end of the season so it's a few quid cheaper.

Never owned an away shirt.

Always tend to buy the shirt and wear them to play football or on holiday, not had the full kit since I was about 10

2. Owned the Wards one with the laces which was sadly lost, got an old Avec one that I sometimes wear round the house. Don't wear one to matches and haven't for years.

I've worn a Blades shirt for 4 matches.
Semi-Final vs Pigs.
Play-Off final vs Crystal Palace
Play-Off final vs Wolves
Play-Off final vs Burnley.

I'll get mi coat (and wear it instead of a Blades shirt) :D

heres some more crackpot kits for this season

thought the Coventry kit of yesteryear had confirmed brown should never be a football kit
your shit AAAAAHH ,is a gift for opposing fans

my favourite blade shirt was the string tie neck one with glynn hodges in it

1.5 my old work bought me this seasons home shirt when I left and I wear it at the gym. Not worn a shirt at a game since I was 12. My sartorial opinion is that football shirts should be worn only as a football/training top. Grown men in football shirts make me cringe.

What's wrong with the Fiorentina one? Ok you might not like purple, but Fiorentina play in purple!!!

I'd say 5 because I really only buy the home shirt every few years
