So who will accompany Derby tonight in the losers lounge? I reckon Middlesborough.
Can't see it Digger. Villa are better and home advantage should see them through. Only chance for Boro is if Traori (if spelt right), decides to pass the ball. The other night he kept running and dribbling until he lost the ball much to the annoyance of his team mates.

I think digger is saying Boro will LOSE

Given the line-up for the play-offs, my preference is to to see Fulham disappear from our fixture list.

When the fixtures for the new season comes out in about 4 weeks, I'd rather have games against Villa, Derby and, admittedly to a slightly lesser extent, Boro to look forward to, than Fulham.

The Championship has, both in Wilder terminology and in the minds of fans of a certain age, gathered a large number of 'proper clubs'. So far, for next season, we'll see Wolves replaced by WBA (very little difference save that WBA's support has never dropped off to the depths that Wolves' did in the 80's); and Cardiff swapped for Swansea (again not much in it; neither fixture particularly gets the blood pumping). At the bottom, it's a pity that we've lost Sunderland but Stoke City has to be an improvement on a fixture against Fulham, though. In any division, Fulham is just a nothing match.

I know there is arguably a new hegemony in football, where the powerful clubs are the ones that have landed for wealthy owners through accident of geography, rather than the traditional big clubs, but if and when we get to the Premier League, I can't help thinking that a fixture list that delivers games against Palace, Southampton, Bournemouth, Fulham, Watford, Brighton etc etc, will hardly be something to look forward to. For weeks at a time, it could feel like we've landed in the old Division 3 (South).

the prem would prefer villa back rather than fulham , bigger ground more fans better history

Fulhams play off record is abysmal

Derby have a number of very good players - some of which would comfortably get in our team - but they don't play as well as the team should.

Put CW in charge of Derby and they would be autos - all the more reason to keep hold of our manager.

All we need is a portion of what Derby have given their recent manager(s) in terms of commitment from their board and we'd by saying bye bye to this division. If we don't then soon or later someone WILL turn CW's head.

UTB

and their fucking clackers.

Hope they lose 10-2 and get sent to the pit of misery the tin pot fuckers.

Dilly dilly

I thought Fulham were far and away the best team we played all season. They play great football the right way too.

They deserve to go up and I hope they do.

I’ll miss the trip to Craven Cottage though. One of the best away grounds in the country.

Read it again pal!

yeah but if it's what the prem wants...surely wednesday would be promoted (you knew that was coming didn't you?)

not really , its only Wednesday fans who THINK they are massive,,no one else does

villas won the title and a european cup

true wednesday have matched luton and oxford and won one league cup in the last 80 years
but not won any league since Elvis Presley was in the army

Derby fans bounce though and have their electronic hoardings telling them when to bounce at home games. Which is worse?

Wednesday. That fucking 'band', the blatant copying of West Brom's bounce. Admittedly, their electronic hoardings don't tell the Parson Cross bottom-feeders when to bounce (yet...) but they tell them how to get home. D Taxis. Be a long fucking wait, though.

What pisses me off about Fulham was they were shite till Cameron Carter Vickers kicked their season off for them.
3 seconds before he did that, my mate turned to me and said something along the lines of, Fulham looking rubbish. How we laughed afterwards.

Can’t understand how they hope to get away with that. If it was that easy, just to make up a company to plough money in, all the clubs with rich foreign owners would be at it.

I mean they’re supposedly worried about FFP but what’s stopping him making up another company to get around it?

I'm not sure FF.

Mind you, I think all this FFP business - although factual to some extent - is also designed to stop the likes of Gibson at bonny 'Boro having his trousers down.

Careless talk costs money.

The league table never lies.

Wrong. Here are examples:-

1. We were top at one point, we finished 10th. It can lie during the course of a season.

2. Teams improve and finish much higher/lower than they started and often due to their squad getting better/worse during the course of the season. Fulham got better as the season went on and added quality. Cardiff hung on to second because of their strong start. Fulham are a much better side than them and will prove it next season. It can lie at the end as well.

I will add before you counter, that the point being made is about who is better now. Not who has been better since August. I’m a believer that a league table only tells part of any story. There are too many variables in football to take the league table as a measure of quality. Unfortunately it’s the fairest way of ranking teams.

I don't often worry about our porcine neighbours but I think this guy will just walk away if they don't reach the premiership soon
If that happens I can see them doing a Portsmouth which whilst it will give us plenty of milage with the banter it doesn't do the city any good

That's an interesting observation. There are huge cultural differences between our society and others, which, if you've not been exposed to this sort of thing, may not be apparent to everyone. But in the Far East it is all about "saving face". (And gambling!). If Chansiri can't make Wednesday a success he will surely walk away, I totally agree with you. You only have to look at the vanity of his whole operation - names on shirts and spelled out in stand seats. I think this is possibly his last season in charge down there.

As to it not doing the city any good - well...I don't think it will make a great deal of difference.

The parochial nature of those who govern and plan Sheffield is a far more constraining factor, in terms of this city being able to compete with other neighbouring cities of similar size, or smaller, than any football club Chairman.

Better off Fulham losing the final. They won’t be the same side next year if they don’t go up whereas Villa would be stronger I think.

I honestly can’t stand the southern entitled bastards. The same type that sing “lets go Andy lets go” at Wimbledon.

Bastards

Andy Murrays mum is a Fulham fan, does that put her somewhere between myra Hindley and rose west?
she has a face you could never tire of slapping
