a 4-3-3 with Reed, Wallace and Woolford and front 3 of Geronimo, Higdon and Mcnuts - surely enough to frighten a team who pretty much shit last season and are now 4th from bottom.

What's the problem? Go and turn them over AGAIN !

Fans say we have a large squad and this is when it comes into it's own. Pull a big club next round and it's quids in.

and just to conclude, I hate bloody losing........

Are you itk?
Good call on the front 6

The focus is the League.

Use this as a competitive run out for fringe players (and youngsters) who need game time and will want to impress. It's the best team possible for that.

I reckon Fulham will do something similar so it's not like they're going to get turned over.

I think knocks and outright injuries are a major concern as well. We seem to pick up at least one a game at the moment.

Focus on Satdis and take this as a welcome opportunity to see the rest of the squad in action.

Not liking the look of that back 5!

Really hoped Adkins would put a strong side out tonight and give it a good go... League cup is a good chance to progress and bring some more cash in to help us not sell Adams before the end of the window.

The way the formation is set up, looks like McNults off Higdon with Diego out wide. Again would've like to see Diego off Higdon as well but it'll sharpen up McNulty

Come on you red and white wizards! Even with a shit back 5 let's go for it!

thanks - but no, not ITK.

Just fancied them from the squad - it's probably the only "other" front 6 who are actually fit !

I fancy that front 6 to do something - just hope the "nippers" at the backer can keep those Southern softies at bay.

I know this could be slight hustling but I think it was Jim Phipps who said we barely made any money at all until the very last stage of the League Cup last season, so I don't think it's a direct money-spinner, beyond the indirect benefits of prestige/attention for the players which might lead to higher transfer fees.

I am glad he has done this. Fringe players get game time and if we go through it would be a bonus. Keep players fresh for the league .
I'd rather we always play our strongest side. We can definitely beat Fulham and last two seasons proves that we can go really far in this cup.

Fulham have only made three changes from the weekend. We might be up against it.

Still, a good run out for these players against Division 2 opponents including one they paid £11m for.

Happy with this team selection, can't afford to risk any injuries to the first XI, we've got enough injuries as it is. Also gives the fringe players a chance to impress which is important.

As for cups in general, I really ain't interested. There is only ever one winner and the rest are all losers, we made a couple of semis, who gives a shit, who remembers beaten semi finalists? I wanna win a cup and that will never happen while we are a league one club with league one players.

Good result. Pick same side for Hartlepool an all !!

Now get the lads back and prepped for Swindon.

So that'll be McFadz left-back on Saturday then?!

Nathan Byrne will destroy him!

Cloughie never lost at Fulham. Just saying.....

Adkins used the game as a strategy to learn something of the fringe players in a competative game . As a supposedly strong squad in numbers , this game will have confirmed to him , we are not a strong squad in quality .
The first 11 will soon continue to pick itself barring further injuries. ( Brayford , Harris , to walk back in when fit ) , Flynn , Coutts , Kennedy , to make up the numbers .

I think its fair to summise we werent really giving it 1000% tonight

Adkins is right to surrender these annoying fixtures , and a nice 1-0 defeat in the JPT will do nicely

Nobody wants to lose but exiting league Cup not worst thing although Finishing with 9 men not ideal But theres still positives 10 changes & our 'reserves' still held fulham with an 11m striker from league higher for an hour

if we have a cup run I would say leys take the JPT seriously because realistically barring some miracle we arent going to near either league cup or fa cup & which leaves jpt as the chance to win a trophy at Wembley if any fans say they dont want to wib a trophy at Wembley they are lieing

take the JPT seriously, if any fans say they dont want to wib a trophy at Wembley they are lieing

name the last 5 winners of the JPT without googling

its worth winning if you can give all 5 scorelines correctly

I can do it for the league cup and fa cup without redress to the internet

Bristol City won it last yr I know . But id guess in no particular order Chesterfield Southampton MK Dons Peterborough
