Just take every game as it comes and oh yeah try to win, losing is never good.As much as I love cup runs the league as got to be priority this season , so I would gladly sacrifice all cups for promotion keeping players fresh and focused.
As long as supporters know before they set off down the M1.Play the kids against Fulham, the league is the only thing that matters this season.

I've been saying this for about 3-4 years, prioritise everything on promotion. The cup runs were great fun and very exciting, but we're still in this division, and it's dismal, we've become a division 1 fixture, and that's a dreadful indictment of what we've become. I know there's an argument for winning every game, and it's a compelling argument, but I think we'd suffer if we chose to go down that route.
Of course, our current place in this division isn't written in stone, but please, please, please, let's keep our best resources for a promotion push. In terms of our aims and objectives, we really have no other reason than to aim for a place in the division above. Once achieved we'll be able to attract far better players, and isn't that the difference between those who are resigned to their fate and those who have ambition and aspiration?

I love the cups but I agree - we've paid a price for cup runs.
So I'd suggest we need to see plenty of this lot playing in the early rounds. If we progress then strengthen it up.

Yeh that cup run in Cloughs first season didn't help us in the league at all... And that £1m+ we got from it totally wasn't worth it

Not sure about Wallace J, I got the impression that NA is taking it gently with him to get him back to full fitness, if he isn't deemed strong enough to do 90 minutes against Blackpool it would be a bit of a risk starting him in what most of us realise is not as important a match. If he is good for 90 minutes, I'd rather see him start against Swindon. If McGahey is fit he needs to be in there and Alcock at left back (seeing as you were starting us with10)![]()

Let some of the younger players have a run out against Fulham. A cup run is brilliant but realistically would we ever win it? That said every round is extra revenue for the club.
Cost/Benefit: The cup revenue is only worth it if it can pay for a replacement player for whoever gets injured. Isn't it?
I think we're picking up all sorts of knocks. Send out the kiddiewinks.
There's substance in what you say Liam, but even though a million quid is welcome, we're still in Division 1. That should tell all of us that we've not progressed as much as we would have liked. Of course picking positives from a cup run isn't that difficult, it was enthralling, games such as the Villa match were superb etc, etc, etc. I don't have regrets about that season, but I do think we should have employed some joined up thinking in order to construct a plan that would have taken us forward. If all we want is to look backwards, have lovely memories, reflect on how well we played in specific games etc then we should continue as we've done.
Personally I feel there's now a more savvy approach within the club to taking us forward. By all means let's have a great cup run, even win a cup or cups if possible, but for now, while we're mired in this poxy division, let's prioritise, let's aim to get promoted, then we can consolidate, strengthen, and make further aims possible, and then, who knows, we might even achieve promotion to the Premiership?
Not if Juve sign him first.DDG will win it by himself.
Of course Promotion has to be our ultimate aim this season, but I do think the 2 can go hand in hand. Brayford would be prime example for me, it was the fans and the club during that cup run that made him fall in love with Sheffield United. It's helped us attract a top Championship Player, who is now choosing to play for us and, if rumours are true, earn less money doing so because the memories we've given him.
