Roygbiv joins me once again to talk through a pretty eventful and at times depressing few days for English football (for once, I'm not talking about the actual national team, fnar fnar) before going into some detail on the Fulham game this weekend. To finish off, we go through some early season narratives in the Premier League, and decide whether we think it's a trend that's here to stay or just a mirage - including whether football will remain this crazy through the whole season, whether Everton genuinely can challenge at the top, and if there's a "surprise" relegation team out there.

I'm sure someone (Silent Blade ?) will have a far better idea than me, but we went 126 days without a win between the end of 1994/95 (beat Grimsby 6th May ) and the start of 95/96 (beat Norwich 9th September), even though it was only 5 straight defeats to start that season. This has been a shorter preseason than normal of course.

In fact now I think about it, we also went 117 days between wins only three months ago Norwich (H) to Spurs (H) with a lockdown in between.

Our record for successive league games without a win is 19 from the 75/76 season, according to the old Wikipedia - not sure about all comps.

It’s unfortunate for me that you have widened the scope of your pod to cover other PL issues in a season where I couldn’t care less About what other teams are doing. I always lose interest in others when we are doing badly. I haven’t looked at a league table and won’t until we get a point (which I think will be in November).

We beat Halifax in the League Cup on 10/9/75 so 144 days (between Burnley and Villa) was our record if you include cup matches
