we have lot's of threads around who should play, so thought a Poll was in order. I wondered about adding in single forward options but it's the combination that people have been discussing more. Have thrown Scougall into the mix due to the misfiring nature of some of our recent performances and his goals this season.

Sharp and Done for me too, just hope CW is in the same box!!

Have to say if it's not Sharp n Done it might be best playing Sharp up top on his own, Duffy AND Scoogs in behind.

Billy running his knackers off for 70 mins and replacing him then.

Sharp and Done.

No debate to be had about that given the poor performances from Clarke and Lavery at the weekend.

I've gone for Sharp and Done but after the game, once we've all realised (once again) that "all Done does is run around a lot" I will be stating loud and clear that Wilder should not have gone with Done and should have gone with Clarke/Lavery/Scougall/Whoeverhappenstobetheflavourofthisweek instead*

*I will only do this if Done doesn't score, even if we win by several goals.

Well that's conclusive so far :)

Although I wouldn't mind playing Scougall just off of Sharp. He's been playing well recently, he's chipped in with his fair share of goals and his work rate is probably the closest we have to Done.

I would have liked the question to be: Who will CW start up front - as CW will start with Sharp and Clarke.

I would prefer Sharp and somone Sharp can play with - it is looking more and more that Clarke cannot play with Sharp, but CW seems intent on it.

We SHOULD murder Swindon at home - if we do not with Sharp and Clarke then the shit is going to start hitting fans more than in the past few weeks.

As a fan all I ask is a solution to what is the most important issue and at present we are handling all our recent momentum back to Scunny/Bolton and to a lesser degree Bradford.

We are in at present a 3 horse race - United can make it a 2 horse race quite soon if we play our cards rght and would expect by March that we should be looking over our shoulders at the rest fighting it out. We have absolutely no distractions - get the strikers right CW!

I just have a feeling he will go with Sharp and Lavery.

Just seems to fit in with the system where Done has played but freshens things up.

Tend to agree FB. Wilder will go Sharp N Clarke.

I have a feeling it will remain as it was. I don't agree with it, but I could understand it after two goals ruled out, total domination and a missed penalty in the last league game.

How is Scougall up front an option? A couple of tap ins and he's a world beater.

No height, no strength, no pace, can barely get past 1 man, has a weak shot, has no right foot.

Think I would much rather have EEL up front with Sharp than Scougs.

ah yes, see what you're saying and play Scougall at Centre Back

Don't think that's going to happen , Billy big bolloxs has a very high opinion of himself

90 votes in and not one in favour of Sharp & Clarke, which is probably still the most likely pairing to appear tomorrow unfortunately.

Wow! I'm the only one so far to vote for Sharp and Clarke! Still, I was just about the only one on here who wanted Coutts back in the team, so I can live with that!

I do agree btw that the Sharp/Clarke partnership hasn't hit it off yet - but I think it can and will. And the 80% of you who want Done as a striker are forgetting that he isn't a striker I think? 2 goals so far in 16 games isn't it? You want to rely on him to fire us to promotion? Really? Thank heavens you're not managing the team then!

I'd play Done tbh. But not as a striker. I'd play him instead of Lafferty on the left of midfield and get him to run that channel ragged - which he's capable of doing - and Lafferty isn't. But middle of the park, in attack, I'd go with proven goal scorers and that means Sharp and Clarke.

All about opinions of course but if you are writing Clarke off already then I think that's really harsh. He will bag twice as many goals as Done - if he stays fit!

Sharp and Done. I look forward to returning post match and berating any deviation.

No one is expecting Done to fire us to promotion, but with a runner Sharp just might...

I think not

Wonder if "our Chris" will check this thread at about 1.55 as he is writing out his teamsheet?

Sharp and Scougall!
That's got to be a joke
It is isn't it ?

Who's the guy who voted for Lavery and Scougall? You outlandish fucker!

Sharp and Scougall is more playing Sharp on his own up front with Scougs running from deeper, depending on the opposition it's something that can work well compared to Clarke and Sharp both pressed right up on the opposition centre backs. I still think Sharp/Clarke can work if they're deployed slightly differently. Done going from seemingly undroppable to can't even get of the bench when Lavery is doing nowt is just odd.

Of course it can work. Only those obsessed by the mediocrity Runaround Done say otherwise. They don't want it to work. A place in the team for their favourite headless chicken is the Ark of the Covenant. Nothing else matters.

Enlighten us obsessed folk (AKA the overwhelming majority): what have you seen to date that suggests that Clarke & Sharp are a good pairing to start with?

I am by no means particularly fond of Done, but he has displayed some use (which includes fully embracing Wilder's pressing style of play) and I am very confident that him alongside Sharp is better than Clarke alongside Sharp. I've been looking for scraps of hope from that partnership, as on paper having two strikers with good scoring records should be preferable. But so far they show no signs of understanding, no improvement from game to game, and I'm still looking for those crumbs of even slight hope to suggest otherwise.

Tedious one note tub thumping.

Tell us what you think about Bassett and Jags again.
