I think anything we have achieved in recent years and I know it isn't very much have not been achieved with Monty more like achieved despite having Monty. With that useless pub team player around we will never play the game as it should be played, cast your minds back a few years to that cold night at the lane when the Arsenal youth side ripped a very good on paper United team to shreds and you will know what I mean.

His last two "non-contributions" at Wembley have both included stopping a goal bound effort as a last ditch act of defense. Still, I suppose if he hadn't have been there the most recent time, we could have lost in normal time and not gone through the shootout.

He also got goal of the season, that doesnt mean he should be playing.

I respect everyone's right to an opinion, but when it comes to rating Monty i just dont know how people work that out. il have to permanently agree to disagree on that fella.

I never said he should be playing, just that it was hardly "non-contribution".

Monty is fantastic in terms of commitment and effort, he offers experience and loyalty but I think its probably the best time to move on.

The abuse he gets at times is uncalled for and embarrassing.

i agree with your last statement. but i think his performance was a 'non contribution' from where i was sitting. he didnt deserve the £X he gets for a game, but then there were several others in the same boat, or should i say sinking ship, namely messyrs Williamson and Flynn to name but two. i just think with his experience he should bring a lot more to the table but he doesnt have the ability to go with it. but yes, we all need to be a little less vitriolic when it comes to someone who has clearly tried to serve the club well. its certainly not through lack of effort.

I like it how monty gets singled out every time the team plays badly on that matter when we play well it's in spite of monty.

If monty is that bad then Danny Wilson is clearly incompetent.

Fact is, despite his limitations managers from Warnock onwards have seen uses for him and despite limitations he has been good enough to keep that managers own signings out... He's very similar to Doyle but I rate Doyle above him, I don't think it was right to play monty and Doyle in the play off final but we had no choice.

You get what you get with monty, he can only excell as a ball winner but will do a job if you play him elsewhere.

For me it's time for monty to move on - perhaps to millwall or Leeds.
