I really get the impression, and I hope that I'm wrong, that the club doesn't really want our fans to attend pre-season matches abroad and make it tricky as possible for us to make it with such short notice.

I can understand that if that's the case if the players/management want some privacy I just think they should be a bit more honest about it and have it played behind closed doors.

Seems like I read their minds and they read my post!

Why behind closed doors ffs. Love Nice, I'd have been all over that.
Would the amount of interest from supporters justify the cost of stewarding, police, catering etc though?

Pre-season friendlies are great for local non-league sides to get some extra income by hosting games against professional clubs, but for a game like this the costs probably aren't worth it, especially last minute.

It's not Behind Closed Doors though. This will be the FOURTH pre season game this season that Nice have played at their Training Centre. All under the same "conditions" with 500 spectators present.

The Carrier Bag Firm are "befriending and grooming" OGC Nice Subscribers (ie Season Ticket Holders) online as I write.

I admire your devotion, but as a blunt Yorkshireman, you have to tell them that their biscuits are shit.

Any chance of us playing the Garibaldis or the Bourbons?
