Unfortunately Sheffield United FC have a very small club mentality in several aspects Personally I don't have an issue with a club employee who cares passionately about the club however we are the other way with so many 'hangers on' that don't give a shit !
Well you are all for naming names ........ :)

As for where the former physio drinks before the match, I'll pop in when my neck's aching, as it did regularly when his mate was manager...

Whereas the vast majority of the top football managers weve had since Bassett have served up losing inept football. Better to have neck ache i reckon than heart ache which we got with the rest of em. Bassett was that piss poor he got us regularly finishing mid table in the old division 1 and taking on and beating the likes man utd, city, spurs, and liverpool. Yep, they were bad times indeed. Still im glad those heady days have gone cos i wouldnt want your neck to get a little strain again.

Ive read some daft comments in my time...

1 - Club's a mess

2 - Club legend says "T' club's a mess"

3 - Club legend gets canned

Its a prime example of the club holding their hands over their ears and pretending not to hear anything cos they dont want to listen to the truth. Maybe DF should have been a little more reserved with his criticism but sounds to me that he was just telling it how it was. Dont like the truth do some people at United if people are falling over themselves to blow sunshine up their arses. And for the record it seems that Wilder agreed with Frenchie too cos he binned most of em. Perhaps he was on to something afterall...

I wonder if Elsie, the kit-washer from the Jurassic period, goes in the Cricketers? Does the club doctor from 1971 pop in to the International Bar for a Scotch?

I've seen some parochial s2 garbage on here over the years but this is special.

People seem to be supportive of Derek French because they like him as a person and thought he was good at his "hosting" job.
Nobody even mentioned Bassett until you did.

Are you saying that the club should never engage the services of any former employees in a different role? (Currie, Deane, Geary, Harris)
Or just those former employees who used to work for managers whose style of football you didn't like?

The same reason you said you were going to not use your season ticket if Wilder was appointed as manager.
Until you "applied further scrutiny to your initial reasoning" and realised your initial reasoning was blinkered and stupid.

It's his routine.

Frenchie is a good lad and allus has been a good lad. Loves the Blades and loves AFC.
Lives and works in Sheffield. Never left after he came up here.
Can't knock the feller.
Ses it how it is.
That's a Sheffield trait.
He's alreight by me.

"One of the lads" is nearer the mark than "legend" surely?

Geoff Taylor was much more important and he hardly gets a mention these days.
