I come in search of enlightenment. Your original statement was 'the dialect is bollocks.' You say it is part of a metaphor. I have tried and failed to see what the metaphor is. Would you please explain it to us lesser mortals. Thanks.

I mentioned the language of malice and went on to say the dialect was bollocks. So, they speak the language of malice in the dialect of bollocks. As indeed they do. I'm afraid it's the Bladesfans' Way.

It's not a very good metaphor. IMHO. I could see it better if it was the other way round being the language was bollocks and dialect malice but even then its not particularly attractive. I know you'll ignore it Pinchy but do us a favour and stop tarring everybody with an inaccurate metaphorical brush just because they hold a contrary opinion. :p

Don't think the extended metaphor works. 'Language of malice' is not a metaphor, and I am unclear about how you are defining language and dialect. Looks to me more like an ill thought-out vague insult, which when subjected to analysis actually means nothing.

I've come to the conclusion that Pinchy is a cock.
It seems as though he/she just wants conflict with fellow blades!
I was chatting to several of these fellow blades in the pub earlier and each of them that read this thread came to that exact conclusion.
Not just me then. And as I read more it becomes more clear.
Tyler, you sir are correct.

Ah well, things we don't understand usually mean nothing...

I'm afraid there's nothing attractive about a significant majority of our fans. Certainly no sophistication and, sadly, in many cases, not a great deal of intelligence. It doesn't need any metaphor, simile or allegory from me or anyone else. It shows.

It's like reading the ramblings of a mad man...

Madness and genius are only a hairsbreadth apart. Tolstoy, Hemingway, Virginia Woolf, Keats, Coleridge, Byron and any number of scientists including Einstein.

They're in good company.

An intelligent person would've made their own "metaphor" work ; you failed.
How unsophisticated, how unintelligent.

Typical Emperors New Clothes behaviour from yourself. Believing that you're decked out in the finest garb, never realising that you're little more than an object of ridicule.

(That's a metaphor, just so you know).

Can't resist, sorry Pinchy...:D

“A lot of people say there's a fine line between genius and insanity. I don't think there's a fine line, I actually think there's a yawning gulf. You see some poor bugger scuffling up the road with balloons tied to his ears, he's not going home to invent a rocket, is he?”

Sheffield United have the most parochial, negative, cap-doffing, inferiority-fuelled fans in the land. I've been around a bit. It's true.

Don't be so hard on yourself.

The sun's due out later so think positive, open those bedroom curtains and come out into the daylight. You might find that the real world isn't as scary as it seems from behind the keyboard.

Quite agree. But from one sufferer from life's inconvenient and unsavoury habit of allowing inferior intellects to exist to another, a few words of advice for you to ignore. Until you are ruler of the universe Mingy they have a right to exist and sometimes have a valid opinion contrary to your own. If it is invalid then your superior intellect should be sufficient to demolish their position by argument rather than derision. Loveya Pinchy but you can be a cock! :D
