What a shift from these two. Hardly played any football all season, both out on their feet from probably 70 mins in, dug in and kept going. Freeman took a right battering again. Their lack of play might have shown a bit in terms some misplaced passes, but overall the commitment they've both shown coming into the side deserves a mention. Get in lads!!! UTB!

Freeman has the most appearances at RWB out of the squad this season. But I do agree that they both put in a right shift. A surprising lack of ‘blowing out his arse’ comments on Freeman today, given it's tended to be a favourite label amongst a good number.

Freeman could have easily come off after that challenge but didn't. I think any commitment questions were answered by that reaction.

Johnson worked very hard both ways, said on another thread that the misplaced passes will go away with games.

To be honest, I was calling for Basham to come on for Freeman with 20 to go. Then he brought on Basham for Cranie.

I thought Freeman tired really badly in the closing stages. Montero was getting an awful lot of of joy down that left hand side. There was at least two occasions which reminded me of the Derby / Forest matches where Freeman was miles away from his man and the cross came in unchallenged. His attacking output is still better, but overall I think we do miss Baldock.

As for Marvin Johnson on the other side, I thought he was very good. Full of energy and drive and defended pretty well too. He still has some headless chicken moments in possession, but some of his early crossing is very good and leads to half chances. He’s improving and I’m fairly happy with him as a low risk loan signing.

Really? Thought Baldock would've overtaken him by now! Ok so maybe I'm thinking in terms of being 100% up to speed/fitness...seems like we've barely seen the "real" Keiron Freeman this season!

I’ve made my thoughts on Johnson clear; and don’t get me wrong it’s going to take more than one good performance to change that.

But yesterday was a big step in the right direction. Outstanding shift, lacks a bit of quality that Stevens has but you can make up for that with effort and he gave that in abundance. Kept in my opinion the best winger in the league quiet to the point he was subbed.

Well done Marv. When we needed you you really stepped up.

Yeah just heard that in Wilder’s post-match interview. Makes sense now.
