http://www.eatsleepsport.com/sheffield-united/blades-seal-exciting-sponsorship-deal-1250633.html

Sheffield United have signed a three-year sponsorship deal with international technology group Nexis Holdings PLC.

Under the terms of the deal, which will see the company's branding appear on the back of United's home shirts, no actual money will change hands between the organisations, but the Blades and the club's fans will receive a significant amount of shares in Nexis Holdings PLC.Blades season-ticket holders will each receive 100 ordinary shares in Nexis, listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange.United owner Kevin McCabe said: "Nexis is an emerging organisation in growth sectors which are going to be dominant in coming years. This is a great opportunity for Nexis to increase their profile and build contacts in the UK."A football club the size of ours will offer Nexis great exposure in the UK. We are delighted to have concluded this groundbreaking partnership and expect all concerned to find it very beneficial."Nexis is a leader in the two fastest growing and high value-add "green" industries in the world - sustainable waste processing and high volume affordable housing.

anyway, what about Members

Seems a bit of a strange idea but I'm not going to turn down £25 worth of shares, (if that's what those numbers mean)

Blades fans could be in the money as part of a sponsorship deal with a difference.

League One Sheffield United has signed a three year deal with Nexis Holdings PLC, a publicly listed leading international technology group.

Under the terms of the deal, no actual money will change hands between the organisations. In return for sponsorship - which will see the Nexis branding appearing on the back of United's home shirts - the Blades will receive a significant amount of shares in Nexis Holdings PLC.

In addition, Blades season ticket holders will have the opportunity to own shares in Nexis, a leader in the two fastest growing and high value-add "green" industries in the world - sustainable waste processing and high volume affordable housing. Further information on the company activities is available on its web site at www.nexisholdings.com

Current season ticket holders will each receive, for a minimal administrative charge of £3.50, 100 ordinary shares in Nexis, which is listed on the Frankfurt stock exchange.

"Nexis is an emerging organisation in growth sectors which are going to be dominant in coming years. This is a great opportunity for Nexis to increase their profile and build contacts in the UK," explained Blades owner, Kevin McCabe.

"A Football Club the size of ours will offer Nexis great exposure in the UK. We are delighted to have concluded this groundbreaking partnership and expect all concerned to find it very beneficial."

Rahoul Ray, President and CEO at Nexis Holdings, said: "We are very excited to have entered into this partnership with the Blades and expect this to be just the beginning of very positive relationship between our two organisations."

Walter Filler, Executive Chairman at Nexis Holdings, said: "Bringing economic growth into communities is a cornerstone of our corporate philosophy. I am delighted that the Blades, a historic Club in its own right, as well as its loyal supporters will become shareholders in Nexis."

Details of how supporters can claim their shares will appear on www.sufc.co.uk in due course.

They are trading at €0.09 - so your 100 shares are worth €9 - or about £8, and it'll cost you £3.50 to get them. Selling them would cost more than they were worth.

The 52 week high is €3 - so they have lost 97% of their value in the past year.

Sounds like a winner to me.

Quite likely to be related to the dodgy share dealing that's just been spotted that I linked to. so the value may not be realistic. or it could be reduced due to some wally giving shares away as part of a sponsorship deal with a 3rd tier football club. ;-)

Just had my application form through today.

Don't know what to do with my £3.50 :D

you could put it towards the hosting for this forum ;) :D
