Hello All,

I'm breaking into the forum world now, long overdue I know.

I work horrible shifts at work so don't get to go as regularly as I would like anymore but hopefully that will change soon.

If I do get to go to games then I'm always up for a pint beforehand and will be around in several pubs, home and away. Started to update Twitter more now so if you want to follow me on there by all means do so @bentheblade_87 and I will follow back.

Not really sure at what else to put so other than I'm also a huge cricket fan (as in I'm overweight as well as I follow it a lot!). Try and get to a test match every summer in England but looking at the possibility of an away tour one year - money, mrs and time permitting!

UTB!

Welcome Ben. The guy that sits behind me on the kop loves cricket and actually missed the derby as he was away in India watching England

Cheers Swissblade! :)

@stannyblade - I don't think I could go as far as to miss the derby!

Excellent, another one who appreciates the fine sport that is cricket :)

Welcome aboard Ben.

Hi norfolkblade.

Yes, play and watch. Drives the missus nuts

Rather watch the grass grow than watch cricket.

I'm with you bentheblade. Football first (support the Blades & England - hate the Pigs) & cricket a close 2nd (support Yorkshire & England - hate Lancashire)!

Great Stuff. Unfortunately, due to my parents moving out of Sheffield before I existed, I'm inclined to follow Derbyshire (I'm burdened with disappointment in most sport...). If we drum up enough cricketing Blades we could get a team up against my local side (Creswell CC) who I open the bat for. I would play for the Blades Cricket of course and could get a few of the lads to do so as well.

The cricket team are a serious side on Sundays when we play in the league. But, to use a better phrase, When Saturday Comes in summer time we play friendlies and basically get bladdered in the sun with the BBQ fired up. Maybe worth a day's drinking????

Welcome to the forum Ben, hope you stick around and enjoy being here!

I could be swayed into making a trip up from Norfolk for that, the social side I play for are touring Notts & Derbyshire actually in July, usually lots of drinking and minimal cricket though!

Nice! Who are you playing in July, I will see if you are nearby and if you have a spare date that matches our friendly side, we could meet up for a drink... I mean a game of cricket.

Aylsham, I think the tour dates are 19th - 24th July, can't remember who we played last year but I think it's almost the same again this year!
