Fulham like Berge a lot. Works so much better in their system, having Lukic next to him doing the dirty work. Think the mistake we made was trying to make him a defensive midfielder, just because he's big and Scandinavian.

I’d like to see what current employers think of Connor Sammon, Ryan Flynn and Harrison McGahey
Harrison McGahey. For some reason I always held him personally responsible for how shit we were for so long. Probably wasn't all his fault tbf, but his name makes me shudder as much as Positive Nige and Unseen Dean 😩

If there are any ex-players anyone would like me to take a look at then drop their names in the replies and I'll hopefully get another done in a few weeks
Ahhs abaht Fleckeh, Roygbiv?

Ndiaye on last night, hardly touched the ball, didn't look happy

We saw Paul Ifill's son play for Bromley v Barnet on Good Friday and he scored at the weekend. Bromly going up.

It made me think what happened to Paul Ifill? He was instrumental in the promotion 2006 but seemed to disapper thereafter.

He has lived in New Zealand for a number of years, playing and then coaching.

I don't think Marcus Ifill is related to Paul. According to Wikipedia, Paul has two daughters, but no sons. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Ifill

Berg is an overrated bag of neshness
Not enough "pashun" and runabout for you?

There's a reason that only three senior players who have played for us in the past 5 years are still playing at Premier League level and it's because too many of our fans prefer muck-an-nettles get-fuckin-stuck-in types to proper footballers.

Fuck me, I remember Ifill senior's baby celebration, now babby's playing!

Way to feel old!

I, too, like Berge a lot.

A very cultured, classy player, imo. I used to really enjoy watching him play. 🙂

I think it might be more that a lot of our decent players in the last five years or so are now over 30 like Egan, Stevens, Mcgoldrick, Bash, Fleck etc.

In their prime they were adequate PL players. O'Connell was the pick but he got injured of course.

I think our fans appreciate class players like Berge but he's a much more improved player now with more years experience than he was with us as a 21 year old.

Glynn Hodges was definitely a favourite as was Borbokis and Fjortoft just to name a few. They weren't muck and nettles. Mark Patterson was but he got some stick as did Monty for lacking class. I loved Patto myself, not as keen on Monty but each to his own. I know what you mean but I think fans criticise players whatever they are style wise often.

United desperately needed him to be a huge personality and their standout player. That's just not who he is. Make him part of a good team and ask him to tick along without having to carry you and he's an absolute joy. He genuinely seemed to love being Robin to Ndiaye's Batman

Agreed, for £22m at United you need to be saving shots, winning tackles, passing into midfield, passing to the forwards and then scoring the goals after you’ve done the rest.

For £22m at Fulham you can just go and get the ball off the keeper and pass it 5/10/15 yards to your heart’s content and never move out of a 20 yard radius.

IIRC he had some falling out with Warnock (unusual) and was dumped on the transfer list after promotion, and sold to Palace.

Palace then appointed... Warnock as their next manager and he lobbed Ifill on the transfer list again and froze him out.

But, they don't get in the muck and nettles and don't get stuck in. Yet that's what many still want.

Odd really.

He's not really progressed like some of you perhaps thought he would .
Put him in a better team & he will be a world beater blah blah blah ....
I must confess I don't really take much notice of fulham but it doesn't really look like he's ripping the prem a new arse hole does it .

And if that's what 22 million gets you a 5 / 15 yard pass ....were all doomed

I don't think anyone was saying he's the next Iniesta. He's a regular start at a mid-table premier league club. He's up there with Ndiaye, Maguire, DCL and Walker as our most successful ex-players this century.

Probably fans fault he hasn't progressed. Always said he's a good player but over rated by many and went missing too much.

South Sea Blade knows 😉
