Former Players Update (Part 2)

Illiman Ndiaye, Sander Berge, Lys Mousset, Harry Maguire and Regan Slater

Ndiaye 🥲, if we went up I’d hate seeing him play against us for bloody Everton.

Ndiaye and Berge reads so depressing - both have ability to play top 4/champions league.

I gave up reading the Man U "fans" because they've always treated Maguire like shit - he'd be better moving to a typically 5th-10th placed club where he'd be appreciated

Delighted for Berge and Ndiaye, two quality players who were inevitably going to push on in the PL.

I just hope we now have ownership who will hold onto our quality players, manage the squad properly and see us break through the glass ceiling.

"My feeling is he’s a bit like Grealish at Villa where his sort of special talent has a place at a certain type of club, but could be wasted going to a top club and having it drilled out of him. Hopefully on a number of levels that doesn’t happen."

Absolutely spot on, Grealish, one of the most natural talents of a generation, has had all his skill trained out of him and been given one job, to pull 2 defenders off the pug ugly fucker and draw a foul, the sooner he’s out of that vile club the better.

Would be soul destroying to see that happen to Iliman.

we got absolutely rinsed by Leicester for him

Manure getting rinsed for players is an eternal feature of Premier League football. It'll never stop

An excellent part 2, Roy, cheers.

Looking forward to the conclusion of the trilogy... trying to think who's left to cover. I'm guessing Sharp, Norwood, Didzy and maybe an outside bet on Larouci at Watford?

Ndiaye and Berge are doing what was expected of them. Berge in his proper position was never going to work for us though, if we spend £20m+ on a player they can’t just be a defensive midfielder. At Fulham he can do that.

Ndiaye is just an excellent player, shame he’s injured at the moment but someone I genuinely would pay good money to watch.

Great stuff, cheers Roy

Thanks Roy. Nothing in that that should surprise us - Ndaiye and Berge are class, Slater is a lower division journeyman, and Moose has talent and charisma, but is unfit. Plus ca change.

Cheers Roy.
Tha's had nowt to do for two weeks....
Apart from posting about piggies crying....
Still crying and still very very bitter.
👍

Whilst very disappointed to see him go, Ndiaye had made his mind up to go to Marseille and orchestrated a move. And i understand we threw everything at him to get him to stay - which almost worked for a while.

More frustrated by Berge's departure, as although he had less obvious impact, he was a great team player who was happy to stay for another season - and once promoted perhaps he could have then been persuaded to sign a new contract.

In a world where we paid upwards of £10m for Cannon, how the hell did Everton sign Iliman for £15m? It isn’t a slight on Cannon, but that was an absolute steal and definitely the signing of the season for my money.

Shame we never saw the very best of Sander as he was hampered by injury for most of his time here. Was amazing in that front 3 under Hecky.

Not surprising to see Ndiaye being a fans favourite at Everton. Fantastic player but wouldn’t piss on him if he was on fire.
