Woolhouse really was a crook but Wragg and Brealey were simply too small time to keep funding the club beyond a certain level even if theyd wanted to. McCabe might have been wealthy but if alot of that was tied up in property hed have taken a bath in the last couple of years. Hes probably skint now.

No we shouldnt. Tricky Dicky was going to sell us out to get his feet under an FA table if that story is true. "Send Dick Wragg to Vietnam", as my dad sung at the time...

I am distantly, very distantly as it goes, related to the Wragg family. Knowledge in the family has always been that Richard Wragg was always more interested in climbing the FA than anything connected with SUFC. Selling Mick Jones to get in at Lancaster Gate (as it was then) wouldn't be a surprise. Then again he was always very chummy with Revie and was the one who insisted he get the England job when others were pushing for Clough.

a fur coat no knickers type is someone who pretends to be rich but isn't really it is all a facade.. (have you never heard that?.. that is classic sheffield-ish?) rich on paper is property types who's assets make them look rich 'on paper' but have no actual disposable wealth.. so put them together and..
