the fans who didn't go and didn't catch Keith Edwards impartial commentary. How did we get on today? I heard mixed reports from the summaries on Five Live and Soccer Saturday. Of course we lost and conceded 2. The score line suggests it was a comprehensive home victory, but i gather we had chances so maybe that wasn't the case?

my poins of interest:

Fortune. How did he play? If Seip's injury is anythin other than a knock then he's in the deep end? Is he up to it? I've never rated him, but some people have told me that could be down to fitness.

Camara and Henderson. How did they play today? I was a little disappointed that KB didn't play the new found pertnership of Ched and Cressy. Would it be the sensible option to have those 2 up front against Reading on Tuesday?

Also is Ward carrying a knock/not fully fit? I'm presuming it's a yes, as it would seem silly that KB would not be using a dangerous player such as him.

Additionally, any news on the Seip injury? I gather he went off injured in the warm up!? Anyone any idea how long he'll be out for?

Thanks guys.

I know the league means more, but I'd have thought that we'd stuck with the strikers that did well last week - Evans and Cresswell.

Ward's recovering from a Hamstring injury an injury thats a nightmare to recover from properly. Hence warming up on the exercise bike pitchside last week.

I don't have an issue with Ward being on the bench if we have confidence in other players. Plus a tired/ unfit Ward is no use, so let him get his rest before a run of games and let his hamstring recover properly.

Perhaps we have learnt from over playing players with niggles like we did earlier in the season.

Thought Bolton were there for the taking today. We were very scrappy but didn't play too had thought harper did nothing again doesn't seem to no what to do with the ball, fortune was terrible in fact him and Taylor got caught out numerous times, everytime they attacked down there right they looked dangerous and there was loads of space, thing we still lack that real quality. Man of match was walker yet again spurs have got a right deal well done mccabe on that one to say ur a millionare uv been well and truly f***ed there ha up the blades

You are extracting the urine I hope? You don't comment on the deal for Naughton? Any reason for that ?

Naughton probably would have been worth that if he'd have got games, not my fault that he hasn't but walker is worth more that 2 million if u don't agree then maybe I'm wrong

I have to say from what I have seen Taylor does not seem to be the right quality unless he improves rapidly.
UTB

He's good going forward but lacks awarmess at the back they always seems to be loads of space, it was coming the whole second half

the Walker deal will eventually give us £4million,Naughton will give us £6million.

Two players who had under 50 games experience between them,we need a cash injection to balance the books and fund some transfers.....are you seriously saying it wasn't good business ?

If we had gone up,we would have kept them

Yes but I'd we invest the money in the squad no we didn't and it wasn't a good deal if we do go up at the end ofthe season which I personally don't think we will were going to have spend 2 mill on another right back when we sold one that's worth more and is good enough for the same price now I knew that befor the season and so did all blades who army just on here to cause arguments, so why do it, I you have ambition you don't sell your best players especially on the cheap.

But we couldn't afford to invest £10million in the team,we had to cover the existing wages as well. Look at the mess Portsmouth are currently in due to overspending

Why do we need to spend £2million on a full back when can loan on from a premiership club who is good enough.I hope a certain premier club loans us back Naughton so he can play at left back instead of Taylor. The sale of Walker has not effected us as we have him back .

re ambition- who is going to be our 'Jack Walker' to bank roll us to promotion ?

Since Michael Brown, when did we last sell a player on the 'cheap'. (not including Jags as he had a sell on clause in his contract or he wouldn't have signed a new contract).

Do we really need another debate on the sale of the two Kyles?

If so i would suggest starting a new thread because i, for one, am actually interested in the subject about which this one was started.

I'd say 2-0 flattered them. They didn't have many chances and I expected a lot more from them following the arrival of Owen Coyle.

Didn't look fit, did well at times. I think we need better, but get him properly fit and you never know. A lot of the time, Monty was dropping back and doubling up on Davies with him.

Camara and Henderson. How did they play today? I was a little disappointed that KB didn't play the new found pertnership of Ched and Cressy. Would it be the sensible option to have those 2 up front against Reading on Tuesday?

Hendo didn't really get a massive amount of service and didn't look fit to me. Camara showed the usual class on the ball and tried to bring people into play.

Still recovering from his injury as far as I know. Will be interesting to see who starts on the right against Reading now we have more options.

Didn't really notice it until the change was announced over the tannoy. Hopefully not for long :(

Overall, I think Bolton were there for the taking today and if we'd have scored in the first half when we were pressuring I think we'd have gone on to win.

After they scored the first, we seemed to look less and less like scoring, even with so many forwards on the pitch.

How Harper can just chip the ball to the keepers hands with the players we had in the box at the end, I'll never know!

Yes they were there for the taking today but we never challenged them at all... Morgs & Fortune couldnt cope with Davies and for me Bolton didnt get out of 1st gear, They didnt have too...

Heard an Interview where Quinn said hes playing the best football of his carear??? Really stephen???

Camera is a threat with his pace and it could work with Henderson but didnt see much today...

Harpers corner straight into keepers hands to give them the 2nd goal was a joke!!!!

Overall we didnt really trouble them, yes we rallied but didnt create anything...

Bring on Reading

Does anyone know where a significant number of the 14k hid by the way? :)

Siep out for six weeks, Blackwell says he needs to bring in cover. 'Will you get any of Killa's money?' 'Don't know' (sounded more like - no). Both Henderson and Camara needed match practice, that's why he played them. I thought we played well in the first half and then were sucker punched straight after , which seemed to knock the stuffing out of us and put them up a notch. Though they were a very poor side though. AND fell over a heck of a lot!! Another homer referee.

and your contribution is ?

To attempt to get the thread back on subject; i was unable to attend today and am therefore interested in knowing the opinions of those who did attend (as opposed to an already exhausted debate on the sale of the two Kyles).

The first half I thought we started well and Bolton looked there for the taking. However we became more and more disjointed and the game went on, we seemed unable to break the bolton defence down (who have recently been shipping goals albeit against better opposition). We mustered only one decent opportunity in the first that I can remember which was when camara was put through on goal and he seemed to rush it and chipped it over the keeper and over the bar when he really should of done much better.
The second half saw and early goal make us completley lose all shape and structure. The goal itself came when steinson was afforded much too much space on the right hand side with taylor nowhere to be seen(?) and steinson cooly applied the finish. Despite the goal we still seemed up for the fight and mustered a few half chances with a bit of vocal backing from the blades but the midfield was very disjointed. We never seemed able to get the right balance between attack and defence and found ourselves subject to counter attacks when too many piled forwards and weak attacks when too few gave support.
The main difference between the two sides for me tonight was that bit of quality in front of goal (bolton took their only 2 real chances) and our disjointed midfield that wasnt anywhere near as organised as bolton.
Having said all this, the match was really poor to watch and the referee made a few obscure decisions and how muamba didnt get booked is beyond me...

Hope this gives non-attenders some insight

Taylor would normally be looking after their right side midfiled. Our left midfiled should be tracking the Bolton Right Back. Not seen the goals but from what I heard on the radio, it worries me that a full back can get so much freedom and slot one home without much resistence. Having said that Taylor does seem to be pretty good when in the attacking third but unfortunately his primary role is a defender. Wonder how long it will be before Naysmith comes back.
