I met Noz when i was 11 and we were in the same class throughout senior school. Played against him for years in Saturday and Sunday football but lost touch after that for a few years. We got together for a few pints in the Queens after finding each other again on Sheffield Forum along with a guy called Bob Moat. Sadly Noz lost his life in a car accident but i'm really glad that through social media i got to see him before the tragic accident. As you know he was a great guy but a real dirty git :) at footie! Send some "pashun" down Noz!
I knew Nozzer and Bob Moat too, good lads, tough opponents on the field though.
I'm guessing you know my old mate Bob Buxton who I've not seen for years..

Well said, never forgotten, we all take a few friends and family to the match in spirit.

True story, Saturday night, my Dad was showing me some photos from Malta, we'd been talking about it earlier in the day, he went there to scatter his Dad's ashes, because it was my Granddad's favourite place, he was in the Navy around the end of WW2 and into the fifties so was there quite often, and once retired, used to meet all his Navy mates and hang around the naval museums and such and have a pint or 6 and end up in a submarine.

Anyway, in the back of one of these photo albums was a postcard from my Granddad from one of his trips, France 98 stamp, talking about how he was going to try and watch United in a pub or listen on the radio "if they can scrape a team together" he said, I thought of us with our injuries, not much has changed haha

"Food good, weather good, beer good." And UTB was how he signed off.

Every letter, postcode or birthday card you got from him it had UTB. I do the same now, took over for him.

I bet he enjoyed that somewhere.

UTB

For Al Denford would have loved to have talked that result over with you pal

Top thread this, great to read after such a good day yesterday.
