and ours let's cherish the memories but it's been evident since the relegation season that Flecky's legs have gone. It's now embarrassing. And if we start Fleck and Norwood together at Wembley it will be more than embarrassing. Doyle suffering tonight as he hasn't his usual outlet in McAtee. He's devoid of options. Fleck's jogging around like it's a training match. A sublime player for us in his day but that was in his day. Not now. We need better.

We need to bring MaCatee on to try and create something, I can only assume the fact he hasn’t started is due to a knock? But FFS bring him on

If that was Fleck's audition for a Wembley start I'd be all in favour of chucking Arblaster in at the deep end.
Fuck me, that audition was Very much like mine and infants school nativity, I played a tree and just had to stand tjere, I ended up falling over on stage then pissed my pants and cried

Doyle was the worst midfielder today, as poor as I've seen him.

Fleck wasn't great either, but when your team is that flat it's hard for both to look any good.

Whoever interviews Hecky needs to nail him on his bizarre decision to start Fleck, rather than McAtee.
I like Hecky but he does make some strange decisions at times.

Rubbish. He spent most of the first half covering for Fleck as well as trying to do his own job. Which a heat map of his positions on the pitch would show.
He gave the ball away countless times under no pressure. He slowed down the play consistently, didn't press well, that shot from 50 yards at 0-0...

Dreadful.

By all accounts McAtee had a knock so it was an enforced change. All worked out well and both the city lads can rest up for West Brom.

Bash is a legend, he was brilliant during our rise through the leagues, and despite not being the same player he's worthy of a squad place as he's still dependable and puts a full and proper shift in.

Fleck on the other hand, despite being arguably our best midfielder up to the end of the first Premier League season, no longer has any redeemable attributes and just needs to leave. Do not pass Go, do not collect £200, just leave. Thanks for the memories but you're tarnishing them with every minute on the pitch.

I must admit, I don't care if Fleck plays, having managed 2, bored line 3 promotions with the club, best premier league Utd side and gets to play at Wembley. Don't care, we've won tonight, need arguably 1 more win. Hecky could play Duffy and Coutts Saturday and I'd still be happy

ffs what a wet flannel you are Doyle was head and shoulders above the rest doing it all on his own Fleck as much help as, well, a wet flannel

He did;....

But where were the options, Berge and Fleck vanished whenever he had the ball, had to go for hollywood ball too often. Midfield was shocking, but this bloke at least looked to get on the ball and progress with it.

He didn't progress with the ball at all. As you say, this was partly due to a lack of options (an observation that can never be used to defend Norwood).

He was made to play loads of balls in behind their defensive line. These don't have to be incredibly accurate, just enough to force a throw in or win a second ball from the header. He overhit nearly every one, under no pressure. You can blame other players if you want, but it's just a lack of quality. The lad had a shit game.

Duffy should have been playing for us in the first premiership season back under Wilder, we would have got into Europe had he had not crossed swords with the Gaffer. Mr Coutts wasn't the same player for us after the broken leg. But.............We'll never forget them!
