You're going back a good few years now pal, so probably in God's own version of BDTBL in the sky.

He was quite cool though - he just usually started the tune then shut the fuck up and let the kop get on with it, unlike that grotesquely tuneless bunch from the Sty who just keep banging out their cringeworthy attempts to try to create 'atmosphere'

Even if I were a Grunter, I would still find it impossible to go to a match and have to listen to the pile of shit they turn out, week in week out.

Having said that, and given their appreciation of anything resembling an art form, they probably sound like the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra to them.

If it's the latter then I do believe this site is not a condoner of said substances and firmly believes that 16 year old users are largely responsible for the raised levels of dickheadery at away games. It is not continental or big and doesn't make people look cool or hard. And the 2042 train from Doncaster to Sheffield after Sunderland last Saturday re highlighted my belief in the need to resurrect the 1980's 'Just say No' campaign to our spotty youth.

I seem to remember we had a bugle and drums (not played together) in the 1993/4 season. The drumming was more "jungle drums" to my knowledge (the 3-2 win against West Ham when we went 2-0 down). The bugler started early season when he could barely play it, much to the hilarity of the kop, and by season end he could just about knock out a tune
