Football Manager Wanted

Thought I'd try and save Tricky some time.

Scarborough Property Group today invite applicants for the post of football manager in a minor, associated operation SUFC Ltd.

All applicants will be considered (except Leaning and Ellis) but ideally the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

- An ability to sign fit, young professional footballers on a budget to be determined in each case by the board
- An ability to sign players and play them in the first team on a regular basis
- An ability to treat our fans with the respect they deserve, especially with regard to summarising match performances

The job is essentially very simple but would usually involve selecting at least 3 midfielders who are 5 foot 11 minimum height and can trap a football before releasing it quickly and accurately to a team-mate. The club is still in our opinion a big player in CCC terms but promotion to the Premier League is not an absolute target for the applicant to achieve. The immediate priority is putting a team out who our fans can relate to and containing players who they want to watch.

I agree with some of the opinions you have Micalijo and feel as frustrated as you in many ways but these sort of posts continue to appear and have no benefit. The situation isn't going to change just because a few fans post sarcaistic messages on a forum. I posted a tongue in cheek one the other day admittedly but the only purpose it serves is to rile those in support of the manager and make the apathetic amongst us shrug our shoulders.

It's a waste of time this Blackwell bashing because he's not prepared to resign and the directors are clearly satisfied with his performance. McCabe is too proud to concede to fan pressure twice, shoes off or not!

All I'm saying is, save it. Criticism is fine but angry/sarcaistic posts just seem repetitive. Please don't take offence because as I said, I posted a cheeky one the other day myself. But I realise that these things just don't have any impact.

I've given up quite frankly. The people in charge will tie themselves in knots by letting the current malaise continue.

Lou - no offence at all, I agree with you, but I'm very bored and can't resist criticising the bloke who is killing my affection for SUFC, even if it is repetitive, pointless drivel. I fully understand it has zero impact. Blackwell Out.

I must admit though. Seeing no statement from the directors and no effective action taken after all this time is making me climb the walls. Changes are needed but they seem so desperately far away it makes you want to scratch your own eyes out!!!

The problem is its all well and good the whingers on here and Praise or Grumble loudmouths complaining, but evidently it isn't a critical mass sufficient to push the boards hand. Calling everyone who doesn't agree (i.e. the moderate fans) with you "Clappers" actually serves the opposite purpose, its hardly a recruiting call. Nor is debating Blackwell's performance down to nth degree or constant hyperbole.

You need the likes of me and those around me on the Kop to turn, but unfortunately I just don't hate Blackwell enough and feel alienated from many of the "support" who seem to boo everyone mistake, boo new players, whinge irrationally about everything. The support has become fragmented - the youngsters at the back of the Kop are more bothered about being Ultra's and getting behind the club at all costs, the (Praise and) Grumblers construe every single press release from SUFC/Blacky as a speech advocating the invasion of Poland, and the moderates/Beer Belly Blades sit in the middle of it fairly bemused.

That said I've always got "Shoes Off" in the locker.
