Its not like its been announced. My guess is United might not be too happy at this been leaked?! As you say I would have thought it would have been better that this come out after Sunday but someone's leaked it or good journalism etc who knows. But United may well have wanted this left till after Sunday

Had he remained guilty as a rapist I wouldn't have wanted to sign him. The fact he has been since found innocent changes everything. It doesn't matter what we say, or think here, the bloke has been found innocent by the justice system, hence he should be as free ethically, morally and otherwise to go about his business like anyone else who doesn't have a criminal record. What other people may think of what he did that night doesn't matter, because had he not been put away for a crime he didn't actually commit then we would be none the wiser.

Do I want him as a role model? No, not ideally but bearing in mind he hasn't actually committed any crime it is hard to put any case for him not being free to return as any other signing would be.
