Football Aid 2014 – Play at Bramall Lane!

How would you like to Live Your Dream of running out at Bramall Lane alongside a Blades Legend before taking part in a 90 minutes match on the hallowed turf?

Well now's your chance as Sheffield United FC have once again joined forces with Football Aid - www.footballaid.com - to give fans the opportunity to play at Bramall Lane on Friday 9th May, 7pm kick off in 2014 and raise valuable funds for charity at the same time.

Football Aid offers Blades fans the unique opportunity to experience a matchday in the same way the likes of Harry Maguire, Michael Doyle and co do every other week. Players will gain exclusive access to the pitch and tunnel areas, pull on their own personalised shirt in the official changing rooms, walk down the tunnel to the sound of a cheering crowd and step out on the pitch and represent The Bladesin a never to be forgotten 90 minutes of football!

To add to that, the matches at Bramall Lanehave also been supported by a host of fantastic Blades legends in recent years, with the likes of Tony Currie, Ted Hemsley, Len Badger, Carl Bradshaw, David Holdsworth, Paul Beesley(and many more)all lending their extra special support by playing alongside or managing the fans on their big day.

Positions are now available in our Auction Bidding and securing a position couldn’t be easier, just visit www.footballaid.com and choose the Sheffield United game and then you’ll have two options: Option 1: Bid to Play – Enter your Maximum Bid and if you're the highest bidder when the position closes you'll win your place on your Field of Dreams, or Option 2: Buy Now – Close the auction early and secure your place with a one off payment online. Positions close at regular intervals until Tue 12th March and opening Bids start from just £170.

Sheffield United fan Adrian Landers told Football Aid about his experience after last year’s event:

“Just to say thank you for a fantastic night at Bramall Lane, thank you for the trophy (which I have looked at every 3 hours since receiving!) and thank you for the kind words before I received the Moment of the Match trophy. I keep trying to believe it really happened but I haven't succeeded yet! I didn't think it possible to have a better night at Bramall Lane than the one I had for the Football Aid game in 2008 but last week was indeed even better than 2008. Everything was top class (apart from my finishing). The organisation, the legends, the ceremony afterwards oh I could list everything that I saw from when I turned up to when I walked out to the car park in a state of joy and shock at the end of the night! To put it simply, what a great night that was!”

So if you're keen to secure a place on your Field of Dreams this season, why not visit www.footballaid.com and sign up today! Alternatively if you’d like any additional information, you can call Football Aid on tel: 0131 220 5999, e-mail: [email protected], post on their Facebook page: www.facebook.com/footballaid or send a tweet to @FootballAid.

Since forming in 2001 Football Aid have allowed over 14,000 football fans the chance to Live the Dream in 535 charity matches all over the UK. The unique concept was the brainchild of businessman and Football Aid Chairman Craig Paterson and funds raised from this year's events will benefit the work of a charitable project nominated by Sheffield United FC, as well as projects nominated by Football Aid’s parent charity Field of Dreams.

I do believe a couple of us from here are already playing, those being myself and Jehovah . I played last year and honestly can't speak highly enough of the experience and the treatment you receive, it's a fantastic set up!

Ken Jnr signed up for this yesterday.
He's buzzing about it.

Who do you play or is a 11 vs 11 of Utd supporters?
Might be interested in this for my sons birthday next year.

I would recommend it very highly ,I played in the year we got to all the semis ,Brian Gayle managed our team and Paul Beesley was the dirty bastard sorry player manager of the opposition. Great fun ,they tell you not to burn yourself out in the first 10 minutes ,but you will.

Looking forward to this, signed up for the first half (home side), which half are you boys playing/which side?

This is tomoz and Ken Jnr is playing so I am looking forward to it - might meet some of you reprobates in the bar eh?

I'll be there!! Looking forward to it!! Training with the forum lads has got me ready for it!!!!!!!

I pray to god there will be another chance to play at Bramall Lane next year?!

after I get a good 'pre season' under my belt

I have played twice at the lane, (as well as the Reebock and Anfield when there were no games at the lane for a couple of years) Cannot recommend it highly enough. A fantastic charity that does its thing very well. My Avatar is from the first game I played in. The photo is very deceptive as it makes me look like a footballer!

Scored twice at the lane so my life is complete!

Hope everyone taking part has a fantastic time.

Hey Jehovah , what happened to the other 7 you were going to stick past me?! What an awesome night!

It was only a pen and that was awarded on a sympathy level :)

What a great night. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Loved watching my lad playing for the Blades.

Great to meet norfolkblade and Jehovah and one lurker (doesn't post much but was resplendent in black Brayford Tee) who also played well.

Norfs was very good between the sticks and made some excellent saves.

Chuffed to bits that my son scored the third goal for the Home Blades.

btw George Santos is a top, top feller.

:) GS is a little peeved that he is almost always remembered just for that incident.

Thing is - he never touched the bastard and still got the early bath.

An absolutely amazing night. Great to meet you lads. Let's do it all again next year. Some top saves from norfolkblade...... You git! Anyway heres my lasting memory.

I was closer to that pen than I thought!!

And the teamsheet from the game.... (if anyone has any United teamsheets home and away since 1990 then let me know, always looking to fill some gaps in the collection, cheers Sharrow)
