Gonna reignite this thread as I was about to write about it myself...

Thought that the intensity, movement, quick passing and more importantly playing as a midfield collective (not as individuals) was a major part of our positive play last night. There were a few stand-out individual performances across the squad, but I believe this is the first time the midfield has fired on all 4 cylinders this season. What a difference it made!

Because Newcastle let us. There was no midfield battle to be won, their tactics were to park the bus and sucker punch.
Agree, it looked more promising but I suspect over the next 3 games they'll get run off the park again. We need an overhaul in this area in the summer

Where are all these young midfielders ready to be sold for less than £10 million to fellow premier league clubs?

The average transfer fee paid by Premier League clubs is £16 million. McBurnie and Ramsdale each cost in excess of £15 million when purchased from Championship clubs so it's hardly a stretch to say a 26 year old midfielder who looks comfortable at Premier League level and has scored goals would be sold for less £10 million if he was under contract.

Which is £10 million split over 3 years (what I believe he would cost to replace in fees alone). If he is then the club are doing the right thing but I get the feeling Wilder is playing hardball in much the same way he did when he wanted a new contract.
