Fleck - good game today on return

I expressed doubts about him in the match thread, & although I don't think he expunged those 100% he was much better than I hoped, solid more than spectacular & gave us more balance & a better shape, so I am pleased I wasn't totally right. If he can play a few games without getting injured then he isn't finished yet, great to see.

He was obviously told not to press high today, he worked along a line about 10 yards higher than Norwood. Berge was the same.

We allowed them onto us until the final 3rd then we engaged. Interesting tactic with them having some tricky players who can hurt you in the final 3rd but we managed their attacking output well most of the game.
Tactics spot on

Substitutions spot on

Well done Hecky

If yesterday can be Fleck's performance baseline for the rest of the season then our chances have improved massively

If he could rouse himself to have a very strong end and help us over the line that would be a great story. He's been a colossus for us and if this season is to be his last then that is how it should end

Looking at the different views on here plus my own view I think we could say we saw a 3rd incarnation of Fleck yesterday, Jo Fleck better than Jimmy but not quite a John :)

still dont think hes fully fit but yeah he could be vital for the run in if he can get anywhere near his best again i like the idea of playing him say 65 minutes then bringing doyle or mcatee on

Played well, hopefully he can keep it up, be a great asset for the run in if he does.

Most wanted to get rid before his injury. I think he is still very valuable and offers a more balanced midfield role that's missing in the squad.

It the actual "unseen work" that Adkins used to go on about - except that Fleck is actually doing that work.

We know we have the talent up top to win games, if we are solid in defence and midfield, well win enough games to make Boros results immaterial.

Some good comments on here. He may not have been the Fleck of old, but he showed up, and added some much needed bite to the midfield, allowing Berge and Ndiaye to be creative. Great to have him back when he plays like that. His experience will be invaluable, and gives Hecky some more options in midfield

Still my current favourite blades player.
No way would we have got 3 points today without his tracking and defensive contributions.
Solid and invaluable player for the run in.

On that note, just watched the highlights and was good to see Berge was the one to track his runner and prevent a last minute equaliser in the move prior to that final corner chaos.

Flecky has always intrigued me. I thought he'd be a right feisty bastard behind the scenes. When Ingood Nick interviewed TDX, he shared that several almost want to be quiet and private on camera...I now wonder whether Flecky is one, he never wants to be central to any social media coverage, you barely see or hear of him.

That said, Flecky quietly going about his business for the run-in will do me just fine!
I've always thought Flecky would be a quiet character and just got on with his game. Defo not one for the cameras.
