I went to the "game" last night and for the first time ever in 55 years of loyally supporting the Blades, I wasn't upset by United losing.

The reason being that losing must surely signal Weir's last game in charge, no ifs or buts!

If that is to be the footballing revolution we are undergoing, I don't want to see it!

I would welcome the passing game as long as it is attractive and progressive (going forward). What we have been served of late is neither. It is obvious that even the players don't believe in it

My fear now is that we might need something Warnockesque to get us out of this mess to avoid relegation. That normally would mean that our hopes of attractive football would perhaps be lost for the 2-3 year period of the new manager's contract.

Why not offer Neil a contract until the end of the season with a really big "retirement present" as a bonus if he gets us to a sufficiently high league position. In the meantime, KMcC and HRH can scour the land for a successful manager to take over the helm.

My vote would still be Stuart McCall

I think the crux of my argument would be: Are the players we have at the club capable of playing good football and achieving results? The answer to that is an undoubted yes for me.

That means Weir isn't getting anywhere near the level of performance out of them.

Second question would be: Is there someone out there who could get a level of performance out of them? Well, you'd be an idiot to think not given some of the quality on that squad.

For me it's now a no-brainer. I've defended him mostly up until the last couple of games but it's clear that something has to change.

As for the right person to take us forward then I've no idea. I like the idea of Dean Smith or Steve Davis but would either of those fit the spec with us having a few quid to throw about?

I'm beginning to wonder if we do have any money... Smoke and mirrors?

I'm not convinced we can even afford the smoke and mirrors. Which is embarassing, cos tescos currently have them on buy the mirror, get the smoke free. Still out of our budget.

He wouldn't have entered my head had his name not appeared on this forum last night, but, I think Tony Pulis would be an excellent appointment. Did his time in the lower leagues and then nailed it with Stoke. Very experienced.

As Wards said above, there is definitely quality in the squad to turn this around, you just have to get the right system and give them belief. It has to be a system that they fit into, because at the moment Weir is trying to force square pegs into round holes out of sheer stubbornness.

Seriously, glad were out, but not happy to lose... That said, marlon king can feck off
JPT or not, what has gone before has made what some days has been a forgivable loss into straws and camel's backs :-(
Think the Marlon thing has passed now Swiss, time to retire gracefully on this one
