First Team Wages

There's an article in The Stir today about how our income will be boosted by around £10m because of promotion. It's mainly bollocks but it did make me wonder again why season ticket prices didn't go up. I mean, fair play to Kev and the board for keeping them at the same prices, but I think most fans, including me, would not have been surprised and probably would have expected at least a small increase. I think we can safely say that we'll have higher crowds next season so it would have made sense, and would still have been much better value than some other Championship clubs we could mention.

If a reasonable increase would have ensured more funds for Wilder to play with, then I'd have been more than happy.

I never knew about that.

How tempting it would be to go down and help. Hours of honest graft while singing 'Hi ho, hi ho, it's off to work we go......'.

Red paint, of course!

Oh yes. If I recall correctly, it was around 2010 and Wendy were looking for new owners. As ever, the usual shysters were buzzing round like flies round a cow's arsehole (think Dave Richards). Two I remember were Geoff Sheard and Lee Strafford - both of them making unaffordable promises that would make Corbyn blush. Whichever of the...hang on! Found it! (Didn't want to delete the first bit 'cos I'm quite proud of it :D) It was 2009 and it was Lee Strafford. Link.

This chimed perfectly with Wendy's 'business model' - gob open, hands out. Here's yet more lies from 2009.

If Wendy did skyscrapers etc.

What, when we're trying to sign Leonard for that exact role?

That's conjecture, along with the other stuff about him not being able to train etc. At least my suggestion is based on the here and now. We'll see.

No, blue paint because red would be too obvious and quickly removed. Blue emulsion. It'll look great for a couple of weeks.

It's not conjecture that we're in for Leonard and it's not conjecture that he's a solid central midfielder.

Nothing Wilder's done so far suggests he'd do something like try Brayford in midfield. It's generally been round pegs in round holes. That's even more likely to remain the case with the time he has to shape the squad as he wants.

It's conjecture until we sign him and I said nothing about Leonard's playing ability. Who are you, United's chief scout and negotiator?

Didn't say we're signing him, but that we're interested, which isn't conjecture. Wilder's admitted it. I didn't mention Leonard's ability, just his position and type.

Anyway, no way on earth will Wilder plan on using Brayford in midfield. There's more chance of him re-signing Dean Hammond.

The blue stuff I mean't together with the shit. Your own shit is optional but I suppose it's as good as any!
You mean that disinfectant thing people used in the seventies? I didn't even know you could still get it.
