Just to clarify on RND, I’ve assumed it’s just got a year left as a worst case scenario – it’s possible he’s on a longer deal, or on a deal where the club can activate an extension, but there is no info in the public domain from a reputable source that I could find with his contract explicitly mentioned (all sources for the expiry year I’ve added in brackets for each player). There have been others that were due to expire last summer, listed on the retained list, who we’ve not made a song & dance about re: extending their deals.

Obviously if anyone does spot that info somewhere then do say.

It's not a bad inheritance in my opinion. Certainly a lot better than the previous manager had on day one. I can't see any of the out of contract players getting a new deal here, hence why I haven't shown them.

There will be a few sales / loans out I'm sue but the biggest challenge is going to be how to get these lads back into a winning mentality I think

We knew this already but looking at that just proves the midfield is the key area for strengthening in the summer. Even more so if Sander leaves.

Also desperate for some wide players if we’re to move away from the current ‘system’.

On paper our defensive options look decent enough for the Championship, as does the current strikeforce based on the last time they all played at that level (Mousset excluded).

Agree with the midfield. It's what has let us down this season, IMO. Not enough quality (though should be ok for the Championship), but not enough numbers either. Much depends on if Berge leaves and if Freeman comes back. I'm hoping they can both play a part, but this is highly unlikely.

Strong post, agree with most of it. Midfield the priority, hopefully get a decent fee for Enda, Robinson, Freeman and Mousse to enable us to wheel and deal, the only problem is who has got any money to buy them? Might get a fee for Verrips?

Wouldn't surprise me if we see performance levels improve for the rest of the season. Not saying they haven't been trying, but a few will have been very comfortable under Wilder and with him gone it might give them a kick up the backside with uncertainty over their place in the team. Those out of favour will see it as a fresh start and others who have decided they want to leave will have to pick up their game to get clubs interested.

The contracts that worry me most: Burke, Norwood, Fleck (never thought I'd type that), Stevens (likewise), Foderingham, Verrips, Lowe. They have more than a year left and are offering very little. Whatever happens with JOC's recovery it can't be helped. Not a lot of value there in terms of what they are offering on the pitch or resale value. I'd imagine they are all on decent money at Champ level with the possible exception of the two keepers. If we have no incomings on permanents the below could be our squad next season. With the number of players we will be looking to offload or let run their contracts down this should demonstrate to everyone what a dire situation we are in if we don't bring in three or four permanents this window. Even if we got promoted it'd look very bleak. We should be actively looking to offload those on one or two year deals who don't have a long term future here now; particularly if they are worth owt.

We appear to have a few players in the last year of their contract.

I think it's likely that McGoldrick, Basham and Sharp will run their contrcts down and either leave, retire or we'll offer another year at the end of the season.

Leaving Robinson, Moose, Freeman and Osborn.

Given how insistent Wilder was about tying players down, it seems a little strange that we aren't trying to cash in with any of these and just let them walk. I would have thought the last two would have suitors for a low fee.

Also highlights the foolishness of some of those ridiculously long contracts.

There are also a few expiring in 23 we need to make decisions on fairly sharpish.
