The technical board should decide the players to be retained and released. The current (or next) manager will not be best placed to judge. The current manager had too much of a hand in poor players joining us (except Billy) or the next manager would not necessarily have seen enough of the players to make a judgement.
There should be a widespread cull in the number of players and the cull should include players that have had their own agenda to ensure their own extended career at United. Promotion from this division was a threat to their own ongoing employment as they are certainly not good enough for a division higher. This was then "covered" by an improvement in their performance once promotion was unlikely, so as to enhance the chances of being retained for another campaign in League 1.
