First half hat trick for Brandy!

True, but the umpteenth payer leaving and doing in short spell what they never could for us is now bordering on embarrassing.

It shows that he's more than good enough to do well at this level. Blades fans have been far too quick to write him based on not being great under David Weir (nobody were) and not playing under Clough (Murphy didn't either the first few weeks).

Brandy may be a bit thick and definitely ruined things for himself with the sending offs, but it doesn't mean he can't be a decent player when things are right. Clough didn't write him off either when he left. Let's see what happens when/if he returns in the summer.

He's 25 next month and before today he'd scored a total of 15 goals since 2008. Even at Walsall, he only managed 7 goals in 34 games he's no super striker.

I hope he sorts himself out and comes back a better player but it will be out wide hopefully on his feet and not on his arse.

He couldnt make the step up to a big club and found it hard to take any kind of step anywhere without falling over

I was having a row with a liverpool fan about suarez diving and he sent me a video of brandy diving asked me if I thought that was cheating , he was a bit lost for words when I told him it was and he was a serial diver too

Not mutually exclusive. I do think we have not made the most of Brandy's abilities but he has hardly helped himself in a Sheffield United shirt, regardless of how he has done at Walsall. I think he plays better in a confident team who know his strengths, and maybe also there is an argument that he's found his comfort zone at the Bescot.

True. It's much more comfortable at the top of the table, than the bottom.

If anything, he couldn't make the step down to a struggling club.

Nail. Head.

And he's not the only one.

Easier for some to write them off and stick up for some of the bobah left at the club though.

Nail/head.

Playing in a team that couldn't pass for toffee, failed to defend effectively and basically played as a set of individuals frightened to death of the task in hand must have been disheartening and frustrating. Don't get me wrong. Not defending his ridiculous actions getting dismissed - that is unforgivable - but if that was a banner to be waved that he wasn't happy, then so be it.

Seems he is happy now.

cant believe the amount of stick he's getting. yes his temperament is poor, but he's young and has huge ability. with the right guidance could be a real asset to the team. im not surprised to see goals flying in for him already, mistake to let him go for me.

I think to say huge ability is an overstatement. Could have done a job for us if he hadn't kept getting himself sent off. Sorry but 7 games out because of suspension a season isn't good enough.

As I said on another thread when he joined us back on loan, it's odd how he doesn't look petulant or bad tempered playing in our side.

Ah right, I see it's all our fault that he gets two red cards for acts of petulance ? Well i'm glad that's all cleared up then.

Although Doyle's act of stupidity yesterday makes my task harder to convince, we really haven't had many red cards at all (if any this season ?) other than Brandy's.

Young? Goals flying in?

Just to confirm my previous post, he's 25 this coming Saturday and should be approaching his prime, he's scored 15 goals in his whole career before last Saturday 7 of them in his best ever season for Walsall. He couldn't hit a barn door with a banjo for us and froze every time he got near the goal.

Now I'm not saying that he couldn't do a job out wide if he got his head right and spent less time on his arse, (although he'd be on the bench the way Flynn and Murphy are playing) but to say that yo'u're "not surprised to see goals flying in for him already" baffles me. What do you base this on?

I think 25 is young.

three in one half is goals flying in for me.

Its just my opinion but i'm not surprised he's doing well already elsewhere. he's a winger so will have good and bad games but for a team who are currently still in the relegation zone (albeit with games in hand), we need all the help we can get, esp in terms of goals. Lots of players are petulant, look at Cantona, Balotelli, Roy keane, with the right management can be real assets to the team.

I don't understand why we got rid so soon, its great that Murphy and Flynn are playing well of course but we need backup and a plan B if it isn't working.

Fair point mate, like you I'd have at least had him as cover and made it clear he was in the last chance saloon. All I can think is that he needed him out to help clear the way for the 4 newcomers due to the wage cap but personally, I'd have sooner we shipped out 'El Capitano'. He must surely have run out of saloons by now. ;)

don't get me wrong, 7 games out suspended is a joke, but he in my view is a player with ability that can attack and he has pace, something we can always benefit from. But Scougall looks good so far and the other wingers are doing well so hopefully we wont need him.
