Interesting to hear Steve Parrish this morning say that he had little awareness of FFP still being enforced. He described it as 'Platini's thing' and that there's clubs who 'can't be following it'.

I haven't a clue about the ins and outs of these things, but assume club accounts must say something assuming they all have publish them.

Carlos said they were restricted by it right now.

Is there any evidence of it being pursued? How have S*FC spent what they have?

Add to that advertising at the ground as a means of laundering money in (check out how many Chansiri ads there are round their ground). He's vain we know but I suspect its not just vanity. No wonder local businesses who have historically supported the pigs are complaining about him cutting them out.

(Glasgow Rangers match - that's the jocks - who massively outnumbered the local piggery). Sorry for the offensive pic.

As owners cannot affect the Championship FFP calculation by directly injecting capital (unlike Divisions 1 and 2) its this kind of backdoor flouting of the rules that has made FFP a joke, useful only for owners who do not want to spend to hide behind. Take QPR as an example - due to face fines of £50m or be expelled from the EFL they strung it out for three years and only had to pay £8m with no loss of status.

The pigs probably had some quiet advice from former Chairman Sir Dave Richards (who is alleged to have been the brains behind Leicester City's running rings round FFP on their way to the Premiership). Richards you may recall was the man who (after 10 years refusing to put up a memorial for the Hillsborough Disaster) was reported in the Guardian as finally having offered to put one on the men's urinal. Such honorable integrity don't you think? Vile club.

Along with this clubs can also make a £30m loss over 3 years and still comply with FFP.

Another way you can breach FFP is by having a wage budget over 70% of your total income. I would imagine the pigs are fairly close to the limit on both fronts. If they don't go up this year then I expect to see quite a few sales next summer.

There are a lot of rules within football that are out of date and allow for clubs to breach FFP. For example the Neymar transfer. La Liga's ruling on buyout clauses means that players can buy themselves out of their contracts but not other clubs. On paper this looks okay because I doubt even Neymar could afford £198m but it does open themselves up for a certain sports investment group who may or may not be funding a certain dodgy world cup and own an elite European club to pay Neymar to be the poster boy of said world cup and the fee may well be £198m :)

So basically PSG haven't paid £198m for Neymar but their owners have through their sports investment company.
