I was speaking to my sons football coach this morning, he’s obviously been made aware of the Blades the last few years with the kits that my son wears for his training sessions but he’s South African so doesn’t know a lot about us.

He’s just been to do his FIFA A Licence coaching badge and he said they had to write a paper on how Wilder had us playing last season and why it was revolutionary. We had a good chat about ‘overlapping centre backs’ and ‘organised chaos’. Hopefully it will breed a generation of ‘Wilder-ites’!

Tbf, it would probably be remiss of them not to study him but it’s nice to hear.

I would rather our tactic not be studied so much.

But unfortunately that genie has escaped!!
It’s one thing to study it, it’s another to defeat it... perhaps they should study the sides that beat us

Pisses me off that the TIFO football channel is fluffing Bielsa (even though he and his team have failed) yet there's nowt of Wilder and Knill (as a team) and how he's got the best out of his system with 'cheap journeymen' who are anything but.

I wonder how it would pan out for us if every team in the division played the ‘Wilder way’ next season? Would we still be at a slight advantage because it’s been finely honed over 3 seasons at the Lane, or would even higher quality players take it to a new level and run us ragged?

Was Bielsa there and how many marks did he get for his paper on the subject?

That's because Leeds and Bielsa are prime media darlings. You're cool and hipster if you love Bielsa.

I was a fan of Tifo Football but how they came across on the podcast about us put me off. The presenter was clueless, completely ignorant to us and Championship football.

Wilder's overlapping CHs was discussed at a Fifa conference, back when we were in League One. The general consensus was that it was very brave. Most felt, in this day and age of being sacked after 10 bad results, it was too much of a risk. All agreed it was different, exciting and great to watch. Most, that I talked to, thought it would not be used in the Championship and if it were, not successful. I suspect , as it has been, people will start looking more closely at it. Incidentally, Knill gets as much recognition as Wilder amongst those I talk to.
