It would be absolutely superb if we did sign him and he contributed goals that won us promotion ala Gary Madine.
 
He's still only 31, he's on a two year deal there so in the last year of contract. No one on here cannot tell me the thought of Foresteri playing as an attacking mid or left forward wouldn't be mouth-watering at champ level, if he's at full pelt/fit!? Also, how much would this annoy Wednesday fans! I want it to happen already lol! You know you'd love it if he came good! Would be like Leon scoring against them twice, but only better as Foresteri was the darling of their fans for a while, they'd be pig sick!

That's fair enough, I've always loved it when a Wednesday player comes in, or ex Wednesday players comes in and does well for us. The main exception was before my time with Terry Curran, but that was different from what I know. He came directly from Wednesday, he'd taunted us whilst at Wednesday and most importantly he was/is a Wednesdayite. That's totally different to all the players we've signed from them, or ex-Wednesday players we signed once they've moved on to somewhere else.

Most have done well, Quinn, Bromby, Clarke (my favourite of the lot and I took some stick defending that signing), Madine (as Clarke) and Geary, although maybe your reservations are on current stage of career and his persona? I wouldn't want him next to me in the trenches or in a relegation battle, but going for promotion under a manager playing possession based football, he could be unplayable - the big question is his fitness.

I'm not so sure he'd qualify to come over anyway now in current Brexit rules, unless he obtained British citizenship when here, I've no idea on that side.

But going back to first point, I loved Alan Quinn and he was a pain in the butt when he was at Wednesday, so was Madine against us, but both of those were decent, we only had Madine on loan and I'd say a loan would be the best option if we were to bring in him in. He didn't excel though in his last season for Watford, which was under Jokanovic, according to Wikipedia. I can't see it happening anyway if honest. It reminds me a little of when we signed Owen Morrison from Wednesday. He had all the ability, but failed to command a regular starting place at Wednesday. I thought he did well for us, but Warnock didn't sign him and his career never was fulfilled after. But Forestieri, if back to his best would be a great addition, and it's exactly the type we're after. He plays left forward which we don't have. My best mate is, sadly, a Wednesdayite, he raved he was better there than Di Canio. That was in his early days, granted.

My Watford supporting mate is gutted that we've got Slav but says rumours was Slav pulled him about his work rate that's why he didn't play so much

Wasn't he on 50k a week at hogwarts hence why they had to let him go? Can't see us paying anything near that not even in the premier league.

I don't condone any racism, I'd forgotten that incident. The Police acquitted him but the FA found him guilty. I don't know the full nature of that, but best to stay well clear in hindsight if that was the case. We don't need that. Fair point.
