Looks a much better prospect than Barry
That's a low bar. I loved Amass getting battered by Seriki then playing a straightforward 5 yard pass to us today so we could launch a break. He looks no better than Max Lowe to me. He stands out for them cos the rest of their team are so poor, that includes Barry 'dont pass to me i'm scared' Bannon. One for our U23s but not even close to the standard you need at this level -particularly when you consider Seriki is not yet a first 11 regular - and he looked way ahead of Amass.

Seriki has something a lot of teams don't have, raw pace. Add in his physicality and he reminds me of Adam Traore when in full flight unstoppable He started life out as a winger. He also links up well with Brooks.

He is a constant threat with his forward runs and he should have played more games this season. Only the manager knows why. I really hope today CW has seen that he brings something to the team others don't possess. He should be a shoe in now for the remaining games up to the JTW baring injury. He's a huge asset that will only get better if managed carefully.

Nice little "oh shit" look on the twat's face at the end there. He knows he's bang to rights.
I thought that too.

There's quite a few having a go saying there's no evidence and the kid could lose a lot of the back of it but if it happened I'm sure others will verify.

In my experience times have moved on and more people are willing to call this shit out, even if they don't want to challenge it personally at the time.

I mean, it would be a bit weird if there was filmed evidence, given that would mean the person filming would be facing around away from the pitch filming the person before anything was said. Filming post incident is more believable.

would like us to sign a right back in january then try seriki on right side of midfield hes better than brooks or ogbene imo

Not sure if it's been mentioned on here but Seriki's pass to Campbell and then Campbell's sublime control of the ball that led to Danny Ings disallowed 'goal' was superb.

If that goal had stood then there would have been extensive plaudits for both the pass and control of the ball.

(More tonight Blades)

More the control & touch from Campbell.

Seriki fired that at him like a Roberto Carlos shot.

Just leave the lad be, and get him work on his consistency. He'll play a batch of games and need taking out for a few, but those "rests" should start to be less and less.
If he's able to start most games and have an impact between now and the end of the season it will have been one hell of a season for him.
It's also potentially the right time to be talking to him about a new contract, if he's taken his lumps and has refocused on what he needs to, then it should be recognised and rewarded while he's in a good space.

Here we go again............ the football managers/coaches/physios/doctors/fitness trainers on here know more than Chris and his backroom team at the Lane. Ffs, there is only one reason Femi hasn't had more minutes since he first broke into the match day squad - and that is because of injuries.

He's been niggled with numerous short/medium term injuries more or less since day 1. I would hazard a guess - as I'm not a doctor/physio/fitness specialist - being ready to play in a competitive first team game takes longer than the time healing from the actual injury? Maybe the healing of the injured area has to be managed and physical fitness has to be built back up before you are ready to play in a competitive Championship game?

You know, just a thought 🤔

He was the one right spark for them today, I quite liked him as a player. Man U should’ve sent him straight on rather than taking the left onto Rivelin Valley coming over Snake.
Are you dropping McCallum for Amass? Leaving Burrows out of the squad entirely? He's an average Championship left back playing in an awful team; we've got two decent CH left backs playing in an average team.

I suspect that it has been a combination of niggling injuries and a resulting lack of 10000% commitment in training which is the bare minimum expected by Wilder. Hopefully Seriki realises what the expectation is as, much like McCallum on the other side, the shirt is now his to lose.

I was actually impressed by Amass. In the first half he never let Brooks get the better of him. For a young kid he looked quick and strong in the challenge. Going the other way he was less impressive, but then none of their lot were….

As the game went on he was increasingly exposed, but for a lad in his first few games, fair play.

Agree with that in the main. Amass is a good prospect. However, it’s only fair to point out that Brooks continues to be hampered by being played out of position. Yes, he links up well with Seriki down the right but he’s always going to struggle to get the better of a decent left-back in a one-on-one there. In the second half he got the chance to go past Amass down our left and was in the process of doing so (admittedly by dint of his pace rather than guile) when Amass brought him down and got booked. If Wilder is keen to maintain the Brooks-Seriki link down the right - and I accept there’s an argument for that - he should at least consider mixing it up a bit by giving Brooks the freedom to go over to the left from time to time during a game.

i agree why our wide players never switch sides in games is baffling especially if were losing you have to try anything i actually would love to see brooks operating down our left with mcallum/burrows im sure he would be more positive on the left

Even with Brooks on the right he is levels above Ogbene

Although I agree with you and rate Femi highly, he didn't play much for RUFC or in Belgium and that wasn't because of injuries.

Wilder was critical of Femi's start to the season:

“Femi's part of that group that didn't do very well for six games [at the start of the season.] He's a young player as well, learning his trade. So he's another one that needs to raise his levels and raise his standards, whatever he does.

“It’s about competition. Jamie Shackleton has come on and played that position in the Premier League, and played that in the Championship for a big club [Leeds United]. And knows the position.

“So just because Femi did all right last season, there are no shoo-ins and he's not started the season off on the front foot, like the majority of players.

“So whether you get an opportunity because of numbers or you don't get an opportunity because the manager makes a decision, you have to alter that and adjust that by doing one thing. At any opportunity, you've got a chance to impress me and the coaching staff.”

Not sure why he was singled out. He made two starts under Selles. Then played 9, 7, 23, 4 and 8 minutes as sub before dropping out from the squad.

Wilder spent all last season trying to replace Seriki so I’m not convinced he rates him for whatever reason. Signed Shackleton, Gilchrist, Clarke and ended up playing Choudhary there rather than give Seriki a start.

I think he’s one of the best players to come out of the U21s for a while and gives us pace and physicality massively missing from the team.

He gets into great positions and we are at our most dangerous when he is getting in behind the opposition defence and pulling it back from the byline. Brooks is really good at helping make that happen.

Femi would’ve had a great assist if Cannon hadn’t fluffed his lines.

(Not knocking Cannon though—thought he had a decent game again)

They both seemed to be have an aversion to getting to the line with many times them standing up their man only to come back inside or back. Many times it looked open to do them on the outside and get the ball across. When they did it, it created some very dangerous opportunities.

Rate Femi.

He hesitates on the ball too frequently and takes too much time getting the ball under control but that aside, he has a lot of positive attributes to make the shirt at RB his own.

Brooke’s is criminally underrated and is vastly superior to Ogbene.

Brooks can be as good as he wants to be. That run towards the end when he sized up the left back and beat him with ease showed what he is capable of. I also like that (most of the time) he looks after the ball too and he has a great understanding with Seriki.

I just have a suspicion that he gets into his own head at times and if the first couple of plays don't come off he loses it a bit. Hopefully we've got a team working with the players on that side of things because, frankly, the mental side of elite sport is just as important as the technical and physical. Just my opinion.

but why doesnt brooks do that more often very frustrating player imo for me he plays the safe ball backwards far too often

Seriki is chaos and thats why I love him. Could run the length of the pitch and skin 2 or 3 players, could also get to the byeline and fall over his feet. Could trap the ball with ease and play a lovely 1-2, could also take 4 touches to bring a ball down. He must be a nightmare to play against in a similar way to Bash was because you (and possibly him) are never quite sure just what he's going to do 😅
