Fatboy Samuel is still banging on about Morgan and Hume - he apparantly believes that because of that incident Johnson's elbow on Cresswell was perfectly acceptable.

"We now know this to be bogus. Just as it was in 2008 when Chris Morgan of Sheffield United elbowed Iain Hume of Barnsley, and the striker nearly died.

The FA spinelessly took no further action against Morgan, who was shown a yellow card by referee Andy D'Urso, yet anything that is not stopped is encouraged, as Morgan's teammate Richard Cresswell sadly discovered this season when he was caught by an elbow from Jermaine Johnson of Sheffield Wednesday.
'The cut was so jagged and there was so much blood that the doctors could not get the stitches in,' said Kevin Blackwell, the Sheffield United manager.
His attitude was different after the Hume incident.
'Chris Morgan is a great skipper, a great leader and a first-class lad,' Blackwell said.
'He is careful about what he does on the pitch. It was just one of those things that happen in football.' "

Samuel claims to have no issue with United but isn't it odd how an unfashionable northern club from a provincial city that resides in the championship keeps getting mentioned repeatedly in one of the biggest selling national dailies?
Never mind, he's only one prime rib dinner away from a hopefully fatal heart attack.

He is a silly boy with amongst other dificiencies he has a huge obsession with the Blades he needs help!

I reckon a medium/rare sirloin with dauphinoise potatoes and a portion of onion rings will clog the appropriate artery.

Samuels and Strafford sumo wrestling

Now that would be sight

I think the FA can look at it again if it's a red, and extend the ban etc. But they can't do dilly squat over a yellow.

This is the gist of the article. The FA have always insisted that, once the referee has seen an incident and acted upon it, there can be no further punshment. As FIFA have proved with Frank Ribery, this is a falsehood. As Samuel excellently puts it:

"...the FA is populated by cowards, who have avoided controversial issues because they have confused running the game with whining about the Premier League..."

THE FA (and PL) are headed by small-time incompetents such as Scudamore, Richards etc. aided and abetted by the lamentable Caborn. They're OK wearing their blazers and ties, insisting that 'coaching badges' are the be-all-and-end-all and will ensure that England will never win a major tournament again.

Unfortunately Samuel (who I consider otherwise an excellent journo) has allowed his all-consuming hatred for Sheffield United and his blatant bias towards West Ham to corrupt his argument.

It is these very cowards who allowed West Ham to cheat so not to "upset their supporters". Mr McCabe rightly pusued this disgraceful incident and was fully vindicated by his winning of the case.
