Even I am not that pedantic, though I do remember that in 81-82, we regularly fielded four Johns and two of them were M(a)cs- Ryan, Matthews, MacPhail and McAlle - and who can forget the three "Gorras" that same season - Hatton, Wiggan and Trusson....

Amazingly, another one I couldn't bring to mind when needed. A shoe in indeed.
I was going to have to go for Jimmy Sirrel and his impenetrable Scottish brougue rather than a Mc name.
