I watched the game in the pub last night, not the best for hearing the crowd, certainly not when viewing on red button but they came across really well, I am not being biased but you could really only hear blades fans somebody mentioned we had around 1,000 there which is impressive ,well done to all of you who went and backed the blades last night you helped us over the line

Between 1300 and 1400 I think BB.
After the recent run, disappointment at Rotherham, shoite weather and midweek in London at a team that might have caused us problems, that my friend, is an absolutely sterling effort. Well done indeed fellow Blades. Chuffed for you all that the result would've helped the journey home seem that little bit sweeter :)

Always enjoy a London away day. Good pub by the river before the game. Chance to turn the clock back and stand on old fashioned terracing, which I believe contributed to the atmosphere. Good humoured but one sided banter with their keeper Bentley.
Also had a look at the new ground being built near Kew Bridge, which looks impressive and has plenty of drinking establishments close by, but I fear won't have the charm of Griffin Park.
3 out of 3 in the capital onwards and upwards Blades.

I was sat in my fave bar in Mallorca. Cracking support and well done to all. Last time I was at Brentford we also won 3 2. Kenworthy and Mickey Speight bossed it. We went up that year.
Omen?

1301 to be exact ;-)

Which pub did you watch it in as I know of at least 3 pubs in Sheffield that couldnt get access to any games on the red button last night

I take that personally. Thank you. I dare say if it hadn’t have been for me we might have lost.

I didn't think we ever got promoted with Mick Speight in the squad? He had left by the 1981/82 division 4 season.

Went last night, never been to Brentford before and think this was my Last chance possibly..Great Day/Night topped off with a Hard-fought ,well deserved win.I was impressed by the Stewards and Police and their Friendly approach to the away fans, which made a Nice change! Got my photo taken with Bob Booker in Club Shop before game too,What a Decent Fella!

Speight and Kenworthy both played in the 2-1 win there on 22nd Oct 1979. Jeff Bourne scored both our goals, one from the spot, however we finished 12th in the old 3rd division that season. Interestingly, Speight wore the No.2 shirt in that game so presumably played at right-back.

The season we were promoted in 1983-84, Speight had already left 2 years previously, we won there 3-1 on 25th Feb 1984 with Atkins, Edwards and Morris (pen) the scorers. Kenworthy didn't play in that game either. His last game for the Blades was v Exeter in November 1983.

Kenworthy actually didn't leave us until 1985-6, though he was injured a lot from early 1983-4 onwards and didn't play that many games. I think his last match might have been at Huddersfield in 1986 but that's just a guess.

Totally agree with everything you’be said,it’s a great little ground and I was saying to one of the stewards how much I’ll miss it.
Nice entrepreneurial touch by one of the residents behind our end, setting up a food stall in her driveway and selling very good but cheap homemade grub.
Was it the Ferryman pub, decent food as well there.

I was surprised how friendly the stewards were too., especially the female steward who was congratulating us on the way out!
I won't go through the reasons why it was my first away day in a few seasons but enjoyed the singing all the way through the match without the moaners. Unfortunately Bentley didn't see the funny side of the banter. I'm sure he'll get worse.
Hopefully they take this atmosphere to the new stadium when they move.

Bell and Crown, Chiswick. 20 minute walk to the ground, a lot closer to the new one.

You're quite right. I remembered wrongly. It was indeed 2 1 and we didn't go up
Apart from those 2 rather important errors I think I got away with it.

Sorry Pedro only just reading the thread again, I have two local pubs the loyal trooper where we couldn't get it on and the Leeds arms where we could, someone mentioned pubs having to pay extra for red button?

Ah right, he played 8 games in 1983-84, the last one that season was against Exeter.
