As people may know, I've not been a huge fan of David McGoldrick since he arrived here. I thought his finishing was very poor, and some folk seemed to be over-praising his link-up play to compensate.

Well he was magnificent today. That was a great finish, having had the benefit of a dry run for the penalty incident. He put himself about without his usual reckless lunges, he made things happen, won his physical battles and generally had a stormer. I think he was robbed of the MOTM award too.

In general, that was much better from the Blades. We beat a good side (who played well), as well as the referee. We also did two things that have been lacking recently - we got better in the second half, and we finished the game strongly. Continuing to go for it at 2-1 is a big reason why we came away with three points. They never had any sustained pressure, or chances of any kind, after McGoldrick scored.

McGoldrick was brilliant today and my motm. A brilliant signing who looks to be enjoying himself in a red and white shirt.

He was great today but his finishing is still cack
He scored with his most difficult chance, bouncing ball not under his control but dinked it over the keeper

If it had been a slide rule pass straight to him requiring a simple sidefoot into the net he'd have missed

I look at this site numerous times each day for the fans view of what is going on with the club I have supported since 1991,I know someone who works on the coaching staff and he has said numerous times to me that mcgoldrick is by far the best striker at the club,we have got a 3-5 m player for nothing

Like mcgoldrick and think he is a brilliantly skillful player and his all round games is good BUT for me he isn't a striker, his best position is just behind the strikers as a attacking mid. I can see him getting much more of a run out in this role if it's strikers we are after in January. His finishing still isn't the best and is very inconsistent.

Def MOTM today really put himself about , very unlucky with shot in first couple of mins , should have had a pen , took goal well and fanny’d about when Sharp set him up ( not sure if he was expecting it ) .. but overall very good today
