Sheffield United boss Neil Warnock has revealed he was priced out of a deal for a mystery fullback.

Warnock told the Blades website: "There was one player, but his club valued him at �2.5million. Plus he was on three times the wages our lads are on - so that was out of the question.

"We can only get players we can afford. Both Charlton and Bolton signed people I'd love to have signed but we won't pay over the odds for players."
