Very impressed with Maguire and Long, thought Ironside played well too, although he probably won't have the pace to break through at senior level. Maguire's cross for the first goal was excellent, not sure what a centre half was doing deep on the left wing to be able to do it, but he did it well :)

Harriott impressed me less than against Blackpool, he seems a little too focused on the easy ball and lacks a little vision, a few times there were channel and wide balls available to him and he passed back or sideways. He's got a nice touch though. Whitehouse was our best midfielder, energetic and tidy but should have taken a deep breath and not dived in when it all got a little tense. Apparantly he won't miss the final though.

Hopefully he wont do, and what about slew? Will he miss the final?

Well 2 yellows is a 1 match ban and I think the academy have at least one before the final.

Slew was violent conduct i believe so 3 matches - again I think he'll be ok for the final.

That's not too bad then if all goes well, who do they have in the final or don't we know yet?

Either Manchester United or Chelsea, who play their Semi Final first leg this weekend.

Here's a quick vid of Elliot Whitehouse's pen for anyone interested:

Have to agree on Maguire and Long and if that's them not playing well, I look forward to seeing them again! Thought most of them looked comfortable on the ball and passed well in the first half. It got a bit scrappy in the second half, but job done. Had a bit of trouble getting in. Pulled out a ticket and it wouldn't scan. Told a guy on the gate who had a look and said 'Not surprised, it's a Sheffield Eagles ticket'. Luckily he let me in anyway so I didn't have to fight my way back out of the turnstile! Did feel somewhat of a plonker though!

Should be good then, something to look forward too and it might be my shite Internet but I
Cant see it mate

Really enjoyed the game. Great crowd and a good win. Thought that our number 6 (name anyone?) looked good and so did the others mentioned on here. Long look assured in net. It was nice to see a goalie command his area and get in punches. It was also nice to see us win headers from our goal kicks. Don't think the first team have done this all season.

Shame about the ref and the lino who were truly incompetent.

Anyway, on to Old Trafford and a nice 'home' tie for me.

Is Whitehouse any relation to the Great Dane?

although several have surnames of ex or current players i don't think (from what I remember reading before on here) any of them are related. However, please don't take this as gospel.

Number 6 is Terry Kennedy, don't believe young Whitehouse is any relation

I actually felt it was the least convincing performance I have seen this season, I have missed the cup games previously but have seen them 7 or 8 times on a Saturday. There were times when the players seemed to be trying to do too much as individuals. The biggest plus for me was George Long who commanded his box and caught or punched everything that came in.

You are spot on.
That was the least convincing they have been in this cup run.
3-0 is a great aggregate score and they should be very proud of a final place; nevertheless, the occasion seemed to overawe some of them.
