FA CUP - Wrexham away

Itv needs viewers for advertisers. I don't understand how people fail to see this.

Wrexham v Sheffield United isn't a huge tie for anyone not a fan of those two sides so I am pleasantly surprised we have the main Sunday kick off time but that's because the BBC are able to not worry too much about how many watch a specific game and can invest more in the romance of the cup
or the romance of Hollywood

Upset? They've picked the only non-league team guaranteed to get through. They've also picked two Championship against massive PL clubs and a L1 team against another PL club. Clash between big teams? They've picked first vs second in the league. Not really sure what the issue is here?
ive no problem with the other games. i have a problem with man utd v reading. taking the spot that boreham wood or accrington couldve had

If Leeds lose to Cardiff S4C will pick it up. Besides, Boreham Wood were on the TV multiple times last year and I'm not sure Accrington Stanley is anything other than a milk-based meme

Way more than will watch Walsall v Leicester
time will tell on that i guess, you might be right but ive just got to wait for BARB to release the Figures for last weekend on the website so i can see the viewing figures. see what the figures were between Cardiff v Leeds & Gillingham V leicester in comparison. but looking some figures in jan 2022 it seems 5m people watched man utd v aston villa on BBC monday night, compared to 4.2m watched Forest V Arsenal on sunday evening

Bit surprised this game has been given the Prestige 4:30pm “Super Sunday” slot. Was expecting it on ITV 4 on Friday or Saturday evening

Thought it was pretty obvious a glamorous high profile (due to their owners) non league team like Wrexham playing AT HOME
against any half decent big club would be either prime time Saturday or Sunday. Millions will tune in hoping to see an upset.
If it wasn't United playing and Wrexham were playing a different biggish team....then I'd want to see it and would be cheering on Wrexham.

Wrexham playing away probably wouldn't have been shown unless it's against a top 6 PL club.

Played Sunday football against Mitch in the mid 80s. The whole of their team turned up in crammed into an old ice-cream van. He was centre forward and I was centre half. He spent all the match whinging to the ref that I was the biggest, clumsiest cunt he'd ever played against. Probably a fair assessment. Anyhow, we beat them easily, and we shook hands at the final whistle, allaying my fears that he would come for some afters. Maybe 'cos we recognised each other as Blades....
Gary was & probably still is a great lad, I have known him & his brothers for years. Terrible "footballer", but a great lad.

Hope the pitch is in better condition than vs Bromley last Tuesday, it was cut up and muddy,we don't want it to be a 'leveller '.

Wow, and I thought me still looking on teletext for the results was behind the times 😜

Great. Lineker and co creaming themselves over 'plucky Wrexham' and hoping for a Blades defeat. Ideally we score three in the first half, kill the game and make it the most boring cup tie ever.

It'd be nice, unfortunately I think this tie has "featured heavily on the upcoming Netflix documentary" written all over it.

I'm not really arsed if everyone wants us to lose it adds to the excitement
Be nice to be involved in a high profile game where we are the bad guys and if we lose I couldn't give a shit

Be a nice distraction from the anxiety of cruising to promotion while listening to our fanbase of neurotic fannies

A lot of our players will feel like it’s a chance to put themselves in the shop window for a big-money move to League Two next season.
