There has been a lot of talk and speculation about potentially completing the Premier League, and the Championship and maybe League One, but very little mention of the F A Cup. Don't forget we are still in it, and were due to have a home tie.

The sensible decision would be to pause the FA cup at the quarter final stage and look to restart from that point next March, after all the preliminary rounds of next seasons cup are due to start at the end of July and football at those levels is not going to happen by then.

they might need to amend the cup tied regulations as a one off though.

Given we’ve not exactly gone out of our way to fill the ground for the FA Cup in recent years, I’m not sure why having a crowd at the remainder of this year’s cup competition is somehow more important than for the competition we haven’t repeatedly shut the Kop for.

I thought the PL had agreed with the FA that the final game of the season would be the FA cup final.....in which case the other rounds will still have to be fitted in.

Given we’ve not exactly gone out of our way to fill the ground for the FA Cup in recent years, I’m not sure why having a crowd at the remainder of this year’s cup competition is somehow more important than for the competition we haven’t repeatedly shut the Kop for.

The FA Cup isn't of the same urgent importance as the league though. It's a secondary competition. The league needs to be properly completed ASAP, however it is done. The cup in comparison can wait.

The possibility of a showpiece event like a cup final being played in an empty stadium shouldn't be entertained.

If it does go ahead in empty stadiums though you have to make us favourites - we've prepared for this for years. Maybe there was a purpose to it all along.

True, but the prize money from advancing is suddenly a lot more valuable to the running of the club than it would have been pre-lockdown. An extra £720,000 from winning the QF could frankly be very useful at this current time. I’m sure the club will want to finish both as early as feasibly possible.

That's about the number of corporate tickets isn't it? Not complaining about corporate (too much) it was the only time I got to Wembley but I did always feel neither I nor my brother who went with me were as deserving as maybe 5 thousand United and probably 5 thousand Wednesday fans who couldn't get tickets (I'm guessing numbers). Shouldn't have worried, I was next to fans from a variety of other clubs but talking classless the Man Utd and Liverpool supporters had to wear their shirts. As my bro' said they're not going to Wembley this year so it's the only airing it'll get.

Also quite a few have a Wembley season ticket , probably all them empty seats , for 20 mins after HT so i agree would be difficult , but these are unusual desperate times , for footballs sake .

There’s only 7 games left and none of the remaining teams will join the FA Cup before January. There’s loads of time to play very few games, so understandably it’s not a priority.

I agree with Carragher on this one. Finish the Premier League then have a week long tournament of 3 rounds to finish the FA Cup.
