Rumoured candidates with League One experience:-
Roberto Di Matteo – reportedly we can’t afford him
Keith Hill – linked more strongly with Barnsley but still hasn’t left Rochdale yet
Danny Wilson – linked strongly with the Blades job but I don’t think KM would dare appoint him
Paul Ince – has only been mentioned in the last few days, seems plausible
Aidy Boothroyd – linked in the Star, but I can’t see how the playing style fits the criteria
Peter Reid – mentioned a couple of weeks ago but it seems unlikely we would go for him
Russell Slade – his name keeps popping up but not enough to make him a front runner
Based on KM’s key criteria of League One experience and an attractive brand of football, it leads me to believe that the two uncrossed names above are the most likely from the remaining candidates. The other five seem very unlikely appointments to me, for varying reasons. If KM is going to stick firmly to the requirements he outlined a couple of weeks back then logic would suggest it may come down to these two.....just my opinion.....some may see it differently.
If you then break it down even further and base it on recent success, logic would suggest he might offer Keith Hill the job and I would be relatively happy with that. He’s done a wonderful job with Rochdale and deserves a chance at a bigger club. Any I haven’t mentioned above don’t have relevant experience at that level as far as I’m aware but if anyone knows any different please correct me. The only other one is Tisdale (Exeter) but it only seems like the supporters have mentioned him.
