Frigging Sheffield cops, under what law can they enforce this what's on official site.

Fans exiting the stadium after the derby are asked to leave via the following routes.

From John Street exits fans will be expected to turn right walking away from Bramall Lane.
From Bramall Lane Upper those exiting opposite the Cricketers will be expected to turn right towards the city centre and those exiting Bramall Lane Upper or the South Stand onto Bramall Lane will be expected to turn left and away from the city centre.
These directions are for the safety of all those leaving the match and will be monitored by Police.

Im in upper tier Bramall Lane, so as I understand it if I walk across top tier as far as I can go towards John street stand and then turn for exit I should come out opposite Cricketers.

Apart from that why do they need this when pigs are being kept in for 20 minutes.

Haha right joke...good job they don't police the Manchester Derby or Liverpool...

neither of those derbies have the same animosity as the Steel City one- I wouldn’t have it any other way either.

Load of old cobblers, they could be living on the same bloody streets. But it’s a shame 2 dozen twats spoil for everyone.

If they’re keeping them back 20 minutes why does it matter? Surely it’s just slowing people moving away from the area further if they’re having to detour all round the area by 10 minutes for a walk that would have taken 2 minutes?

I am walking from the south stand straight home to Heeley, no matter what direction they might want me to go.

Because AFAIK that is only advisory and they cannot actually enforce such a thing
The public order act does allow the Police to put conditions on people’s movements to prevent disorder. I’m hopeful they’ll be sensible and only stop groups of lads clearly looking for bother with Wednesday and allow regular folk to go whichever way they want.
