Got to admire the guy for nurturing his hidden talent on the quiet (didn't David James do something similar too? Jack Russell, the cricketer, is another one who comes to mind). He's good as well. Here's another article, which shows a few more of his paintings (including a very strange one of the queen, seemingly sat on the bog & squeezing one out...) -

As for current players & alternative careers - a couple could go down the counselling line, I'd have thought? - James Wallace helping those who'd had repeated breakdowns, & Neill Collins counselling folks who'd spent extended periods in isolation.

Cheers Alf, some cracking stuff there. I wish I had a similar skill but sadly I can't draw for toffee. Come to think about it, I'm pretty crap at football too :-)
 
Maybe they could all get together and form a team of counsellors?
I can see them now, helping to de-stress uptight workaholics,
"Look, there's no need to go rushing around all day. You just need to sloooow things down a bit and try to take things a little easier"
