for me it would be
1 Ched --- must be kept unless we can get in excess of £2mil which isnt going to happen
2 Maguire --- would have to be in excess of £3mil (only more than ched due to contracts)
3 Quinn ---- £750k to free some wages
4 Monty ---- would let him goon a free to free wages
5 Lowton --- same as Maquire

Of these though Quinn and Monty would be the ones that I would be least bothered about.

Pretty much agree with you Stanny. I'd let Monty go for free and Quinn for a reasonable fee (more than 500k) or a swap deal. Evans should not be sold! We need to learn from the Leeds/Beckford experience. I had a phone call from a mate of mine last night. He said "watched your lot vs County the other day. Good game. You quite impressed me. Ched Evans is way too good for that league." He could fire us up and I just cannot see the point in selling him. Maguire and Lowton are absolutely not for sale! Two young lads from Sheffield, loads of potential and on long term contracts. These are the players we need to be building the team around and hopefully bringing in more like them. I doubt they are on on big contracts eithers. Hands off!!

The odd one is Ched. With his contract up at the end of the season we'd normally be looking to offload him for a fee (£500K?) but with the court case due to be heard in March there's no way anybody will buy him and a loan deal wouldn't really wash either. It sounds like (and I hope it's true) that we're stuck with Ched until the end of the season when he'll be able to walk away as a free agent or ideally he's found not guilty and fires us to promotion before signing a new deal!

These rules are often correct in FM. If they are I think we have to offer him a new deal on better or equal terms to his current contract - six months prior to expiry - to be entitled to a compensation fee.

Although I believe that we should do our best to keep Ched if that was correct then I would accept it as we can get a replacement in for less and fuck the uncleans season right up.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Monty to Leeds deal happened. If Wilson was playing him every week then maybe not, but it seems that he is happy with Doyle/Willo/Macdonald/McAllister and there could also be the two lads from Celtic coming down on loan. I also think Quinn will going with Clarke coming this way. Other than that the other moves will all be down to what we get offered.

Surely we can afford another 4 months of cheds wages especially if he helps us to promotion we may then lose them all together after that, most of the time when clubs loan they only pay a percentage of the wage any way. If we HAD to sell players then Monty and Quinn would be top of my list mostly down to wages. I would obviously prefer to keep the squad intact for a good automatic promotion push. I doubt any of the 5 teams pushing for the top 2 will be selling in January most i expect to strengthen.

I don't understand how it makes sense to sell these players now if we didn't in the summer. I know that a few have acquired value since then, but when you balance that against our current position and good form, we should be pushing on to cement our place in the top two and promotion rather than disassembling a side which has so far been successful in this league, and far more so than we expected.

We should only sell if we have an equally good replacement ready to sign. Of those mentioned, Monty i don't think we would miss, but despite their faults Ched and Quinn have been important players for us this season so far, and we should hold onto them.
