Don't take chances, the opposing team scores a wonder goal.

Some of the interplay was great to watch today- but we are so toothless. Most teams will come and get a goal, we just have to be more clinical.

Every other team seems to have players that can shoot, I'm struggling to think of one player that's got a shot in them. Billy from 6 yards but further out = none.

Its not even a difficult skill to tonk the ball but we seem incapable.

And f*** me how bad was Baldock today- nobody in this league is as bad at crossing as he is.

That's why were 17th... 18th if Derby had their proper points, we're a shambles up front and we're going down a league before we go up a league on the performances to date

Norwood's first half shot was like 95% of our long distance shots, far too high.

Straight up - thats exact what we said at the time - should have been drilled no higher than 2ft off the ground. SAying that Norwood was certainly not to blame for todays loss.

Slav called this right- we played OK but just didn't take chances, they have to believe and be more clinical. Shoot harder, lower and with belief.

It's a bit harsh to say Baldock is bad at crossing. He never crosses..... period! You can't be crap at something that you don't do.

..... but I totally agree with you as I've posted elsewhere.

We also seem to have a very high percentage that hit the opposition players

A very high percentage of long range shots DO hit an opposition player or go over the bar though, that's why we never did it under Chris Wilder. It's not an efficient way of trying to score a goal.

Think someone needs to tell that to the opposing teams that keep whacking them in between 85 and 95 mins each week and cleaning the points up. Match of The Day will be jam packed with goals that are belted in rather than tapped in. FFS start drilling the ball into the net please.

Just think our shooting technique is poor in general both long and short range and has been for a number of years even when we were doing better.

Moose and Ndiaya both missed the target from 6/8 yards, you have to at least make the keeper save

Sitting where I do, I closely watch the players in their warm up. Shooting, and scoring, from a distance does not seem to be a problem. Even from tight angles we are fairly consistent at scoring. Now, I am aware that they do not have defenders crowding them, but Fleck, and to a certain extent, Norwood for example, score with some decent shots. We have also started practising cross-field balls with Baldock crossing into the penalty area - consistently! So why can't we do it in a match? Looking at the goals scored in all four divisions on a weekly basis, it is noticeable that teams do score from range, quite often via a deflection. Has this been drilled out of us over the years, or are we scared to try long-range shots just in case they don't come off? And don't get me started on headed goals! Half-way through the match yesterday, my mate turned to me and said that it was probably about time for the opposition to score and, a few minutes later, they did. We really have to address this dearth of shooting because, where in the past few years, we have been solid at the back (except, of course for last year) we now have a fragile defence which looks likely to concede at every attack. Hopefully, Slav will start to sort this in the JTW but major surgery seems to be needed at the moment.
