Lundstram must know he's shit mustn't he? He has to possess a basic level of self awareness of his own performance levels week in week out, married to the groans that emanate from the crowd when he gets on the ball and reinforced by CW throwing an arm around his shoulder after every game and say "Keep on doing what your doing Lunny, it'll come right" and both knowing in their heart of hearts it won't. The only thing that upsets me is the thought of him having to lie to his Mum & Dad every week on the phone. "Hello Mam, how's Dad? Tell him I got Man of the Match again today, i'm doing really, really well". "We both love you & we're so proud of you Jonny, la", "I know Mum, I know", he puts the phone down and he starts to cry. :(

He was no worse than Fleck on Saturday. Managers favourites can be ridiculed but not fans favourites. Maybe Fleck was thinking about his transfer. O'Connells mind seemed elsewhere for much of the game.

Lundstram or Evans? Only one has the chance to become better than he is now.

There did appear to be a couple of players whose minds appear to be elsewhere. :)

Neither of them, both aren't good enough if we're looking towards the play-offs. Until Coutts returns let Leonard have a run in the team as the holding player in midfield. It's patently obvious as a team with Lundstrum and/or Evans in it we can't get to the performance levels we had when Coutts was in the team. Change how we play a little, start by tightening up play Leonard in midfield in front of JOC / Egan / Bash or Stearman and don't be as gung-ho. And defo play Duffy, when he plays well United play well.

Are we really picking scapegoat for the season after one game?

Evans and Lundstram both put in good performances last season but let’s write them off as shit after a bad day at the office Saturday.

It’s like people expect us to have Xavi and Iniesta in the middle of the park, forgetting the budget we sadly have.

Wilder likes both Evans and Lundstram far too much. Partly because they're both recent cash buys. It's hopeful stuff from him more than anything. I remember his comment that Lundstram was the best player in the bottom two divisions, he was kidding himself then and it seems like he's going to continue to by starting him more often than he should.

I'd play Leonard there if neither show improvement. He's a better athlete and can cover enough ground to help us remain solid enough while playing with Duffy or someone else in the 10 role.

Lunny for me. More of a goal threat and better defensively.

No it's not based on one game, it's based on many average games from the pair over the last 6 or 7 months, fair enough they've both had the odd good game, but it's been the exception rather than rule. Wilder was talking up play-offs contenders in pre-season, that'll not happen with those two in midfield. Duffy should be in ahead of either of them for starters and I'd say Leonard is worth a run in centre mid, so there's at least one better fit midfield player at the Lane, and perhaps another, which would be in budget.

when Coutts is fit we will see Coutts slightly deeper with Fleck and Evans making the 4 in the middle with the wing backs.

CW appears to have abandoned the attacking situation of 3-4-1-2 as we are to now giving the opposition more respect. He appears to not like getting picked off as numerous teams did to us in the 2nd half of last season.

I reckon CW & AK have changed tactics after being in this division just one season. Think we should all remember, neither of them have much experience of this division leading to them changing the gung ho philosophy of the past.

Reckon we'll see much more of 3-5-2 or when Coutts is back a 3-1-4-2

Up to now, CW has preferred Evans to Lundstram - there is zero evidence to suggest that has changed.
