BOHEMIANS man Eoin Wearen hopes that a second trial at Sheffield United will earn him a contract with the League One side.
Former West Ham United trainee Wearen, who impressed after joining Bohs mid-way through the 2014 season, is a free agent and is being tracked by a number of League of Ireland clubs, as Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, St Patrick's Athletic and Sligo Rovers have been linked with the Glasnevin lad.

However, he's keen to try his luck abroad and while there is a chance of a move to the USA with reported interest from MLS teams, he could end up at Bramall Lane under Nigel Clough.

"I was over training with them for a week and it went well, and they want me back for another look but something could happen there," says Wearen.

"Sheffield United are a massive club, their facilities are superb and they have amazing support, they had 25,000 for their last home game and they really should be in the Premier League. I had hoped to play an U21 game for them but because it was a league game I wasn't cleared to play, but they want me back for a few days in two weeks to play in a friendly.

"They said they have been impressed with what they have seen and they had watched me playing for Bohs, so it's a matter now of me going back over, hopefully doing well and getting a contract and I am fairly confident it will come off," added Wearen. "There has been interest from other clubs in the UK but Sheffield United would be a great move. I am only 22 and if it doesn't come off I will deal with it."

He has spoken to new Bohs boss Keith Long about a contract extension but it's almost certain that he will move on from Dalymount Park.

"I owe Bohemians a lot as they got me back playing again," he says.

"I was an unknown player who had a tag of being injured and I feel grateful to Bohs. It's not about money for me, if I do move on I will go for the best option that suits my career next."
